Been ages since I did any WWII projects, but the relatively recent release of 0200 Hours (and most of all the premise of the game) piqued my interest. Obtained the game over the Christmas holiday and got to work. A lot of the fun to be had in this game is in the table and terrain, so I'll also be adding to my somewhat sparse collection of 28mm WWII scenics in the form of various targets, objectives and obstacles. I offer the ETO forces here, and sometime in the future I'll be looking to build out something similar for North Africa. The figures are mostly the plastics from Wargames Atlantic included with the game, with a few Foundry thrown in and some odd and ends here and there kitbashed from an old Warlord sprue.
SAS, RM Commandos, and characters. Denison - 1st attempt.

Denison - 2nd attempt (to left).

Denison - subsequent attempts.

A downed pilot for the inevitable CSAR scenario.

Their opponents...

And some Feldgendarmerie for whom you will see, Alles ist nicht in ordnung. The basis for a new scenario entitled “Who Drew the Dicks?”, in which the Nazis are on the hunt for some perpetrators relentlessly tagging Kubelwagens

And that's the last of my ungentlemanly ETO guys (for now) - have all the weapons systems and teams modeled in 0200 represented on both sides - so time to call it a wrap. Next phase -- objectives, terrain and some desert troops...

Now, those are some perfectly lovely figures. I particularly like the Highland Laddie! His Tartan looks pretty darn good...
-
Great work! 🫡
-
Excellent work, I'm quite tempted now, I've already got a Commando Force but these are lovely.
-
Great job on those smocks. I really love the figure holding the silenced pistol with two hands.
Also that radar station looks cool as hell.
-
Hmm. I just now noticed the, um, diagram that German officer is reading.... 8)
-
Love the radar station! Is the dish 3D printed and the control cabin a scratch
build? Your Dennison smocks also look very good.
-
Thanks, gentlemen.
I've blocked in the radar station, which is all a print from one of Jens Najewitz's sets: https://www.3dprintterrain.de (https://www.3dprintterrain.de) Not certain I'll do much other than pin wash and edge highlights, given the resolution at which I printed the FDM. (Smooth vertical surfaces are the Achilles Heel of that material.) But should look pretty good on the table nonetheless. The searchlight on the other hand I've done in resin and I'm likely to devote some dedicated airbrush time to it.
Cap'n... That diagram is the critical key to the scenario! ;)

Great looking figures, I loled when I saw the officer with the paper in his hand.
-
Nice searchlight and RADAR station. Can't wait to see 'em all painted up!
-
Thanks gentlemen. Just a few more commandos here. Seems only logical to have both desert and temperate versions after all.
I present Force 069, Captain Pockett-Poole, commanding.

Masterful! And I see where the Captain gets his name!
-
Are the Germans also Wargames Atlantic?
-
Loving your desert troopers. I'd be really interested in what paint you used for them.
-
Thanks all! That got, I used the palette recommended by Captain Blood in his epic Western Desert thread. Basically Vallejo Khaki, Russian Uniform and a warm grey the name of which I can’t recall. Can’t go wrong with his recommendations!

Fram, Most of them are. The rightmost two of the sentries in the first shot are Foundry and the MG is a print, but the remainder are all the WA plastics from the 0200 box set.

Them chaps sure look spiffy. Well done!

Thank you. I'll look up the thread.

What is the German officer looking for with his map? Great project.
-
Thanks much, gentlemen. Here are the Germans for North Africa scenarios. Hauptmann Wolf Bahls and crew, prepared for a turgorous evening out.

Now on to some tabletop elements and so forth.

Brilliant! Absolutely fantastic! I think I like the Afrika Korps better! Masterful brushwork and I love your color palette!

I agree! Great work!
-
I like how you transformed the jackboots into desert boots. Well done!
I'm still waiting for my German Sentry and SAS boxes from WA. When I get 'em, I'll paint some up and post them on my thread...
-
Looking good.
-
Many thanks, gentlemen. I’ll share more as the project comes along.
-
Some splendid brush and conversion work there. Most inspirational!
-
Belated thanks, gentlemen. With the weather warming and me feeling up to getting the airbrush set up in the shed, I’ve gotten back to the scenic elements for the project. I’ve begun with some items for the desert table.
