Morning All
The last few months has seen very little radio chatter from me and I thought I'd explain whats going on. Back in October we bought a new home near Chertsey, Surrey and moved out of our old house of nearly thirty years in December. The new place is a massive project = 3 bungalows sitting in 10 acres of woodland. Two of the buildings are uninhabitable and we have only just got the third into a iiving condition. On top of all this the grounds have been neglected for the past 10 years so there is plenty to be done. The good news is that there is an old office/shed on site for my new games room.

I am keeping a log of the progress of this on my blog with part 1 posted back in November
http://shedwars.blogspot.com/2022/11/the-new-shed-part-1.html (http://shedwars.blogspot.com/2022/11/the-new-shed-part-1.html)
Each of the posts has link to the next and so you can follow my progress / descent into madness.
As things develop I'll be announcing further news on how this project will develop - in the meantime I have some more trees to chop
Giles (aka Eric the Shed)

That looks to be a rather massive project; all the best with that! :)
And is me, the picture, or gravity that's skewing the shed in the picture to the point of near collapse? :o

Its on a slope - the building is level and secure !! :)

Looks impressive and a nice project, we're it not for the fact that it sounds like the house will be more of the same!
-
Good luck with this massive, i.e. bigger than 28mm, project.
-
"You're gonna need a bigger shed!" lol
-
Just read all 4 posts. Really looking forward to seeing how this all comes out.
-
Oh yeah, good luck with your new project(s)! The shed looks pretty nice!
-
I’ve been following your progress on your blog.
Massive project.
Good luck with it all.

I'm rather concerned for your safety Mr. Eric the Shed. I'm hoping Mrs. Shed isn't planning to do you in while you are asleep. All that work on your play room but what about her house - a woman wants her house in order and pronto? Mrs. Fifteens is quite adamant on this point and, heck, I even, more or less, comply with her frequent demands! lol
Looks like you will have a rather magnificent play room for your miniatures once all is done.
Well, if you survive Mrs. Shed. :o

Thanks for all the positivity chaps

I'm rather pleased that you're in Chertsey rather than Bath.
Your new place is looking good.
-
That is an unbelievable amount of space! :o
I noticed you have a faucet in there. You got a toilet as well?
-
Yes...toilet in building...

Amazing rebuild on the new shed. Looking forward to see how you tackle the storage issues.
-
I see the castors on those units and think...
never ending terrain!
a)Lay out 'tables' 1 to 6
b) Player 1 enters table one. Advances/fights onto table two etc.
c) By the time player one is coming onto table six, the umpire has
wheeled table 'one' along & (with maybe some changes in terrain)
it becomes... Table SEVEN !!! :o Carry on, & on, & on :o :o :o

nice new shed!!!!

I am not sure you can keep calling that a shed. You will have to come up with a new name for yourself, the blog and everything. You have moved way beyond shed mate.
-
Perhaps you can now call your new gaming premises, "Eric's Entertainment Emporium"? Or, perhaps given the volume of 'stuff', maybe "Eric's Elastic Entertainment Emporium"?
Stuff does two different things, it gives us lots of pleasure as we acquire and enjoy it but it also weighs us down with the burden of the sheer volume. And then there is the third element - how will it be disposed of upon our inevitable demise? And, that two can be both a pleasure and a burden (well, not for ourselves once we are gone).
I say focus on getting it all in order first and then contemplate what really will be kept and what can go away sooner than later. The later stuff being ultimately someone else's challenge - though perhaps with appropriate direction for those others from yourself.
Personally, I think we will all be impressed with your final results - even if you dispose of nothing at all. It is amazing how much stuff we gamers can cram into all of our available nooks and crannies.
We await the next installment with interest. Well, I do. ;)
-
Looking good mate, glad the move went well for you - certainly looks like the new shed has huge potential for you 8)
-
So far, so good. It is a great thing to have a dedicated gaming space... ;) :)
As an aside, Mrs. Jim dubbed my wargaming building we bought in 2019 as "The Toybox", so that's what it is!

Or maybe just Eric's TARDIS? ;) lol
Just saying :)
