Title: Can anyone tell me what this figure is?

This figure is included in both the Early and Late WW1 German Command packs from Kallistra. I was wondering if he was a tank crewman?

Definitely looks like a tanker to me.

The overalls would be right, but that helmet is strange (see below for pictures of German tanker helmet) - also there wouldn't be a tanker in an early war command set.  The tanker helmet didn't have a comb over the top - it had a circle around it.

  I think it is meant to be an early German pilot's helmet (see below; first picture is from Australian war museum's collection; second is from an auction house).  Recon aircraft would have been attached to senior Army commands.

Thanks for the swift responses chaps, Metternich I think you're right. I had never seen that style of flying helmet before but now I have, I'm sure the figure is a pilot. Many thanks.
