Anybody help and confirm how the Front Rank SYW figures compare with those from Wargames Foundry.
Specifically interested in how the Prussian Hussars stack up against each other, but I assume figure size is consistent across each make.
Thanks

The Foundry are REAL big, the same size as Redoubt , the Front Rank are smaller. Sorry I don't have any Prussians, only Foundry British hatmen, Grenadiers and Dragoons.

Thanks, I was expecting the Foundry to be smaller as I have one infantry figure from their WSS range (was a freebie with some paints I got from them) and he is definitely on the small side

Different sculptors aren't they? The WSS range are the original Perry sculpts. The SYW was by someone else. Matthew Bickley?

I think the early SYW was Mark Copplestone, which is most likely why they look so good.

yes Copplestone I believe. Certainly the ones I have look like his work.
and they are pretty big by the standard of 28mm historicals.

I don't have any direct comparison figures to hand, but this shot from a recent photoshoot in GHQ might help. The Hanoverians and Hessians nearest the camera are Front Rank, the British are Foundry and the French Casting Rooms Miniatures. The latter two are bigger than Front Rank, so wouldn't mix in a unit easily, but on the table in a game differences disappear I find. For Foundry Mark Copplestone did most of the Prussians and Russians, Rob Baker the British and French. Hope it's helped a little.
