Title: Gelatinous Cube
Post by: snitcythedog on March 10, 2023, 10:47:05 AM
After finishing my BSC 2023 entry I had a load of clear resin left over.  I decided to try my hand at a Gelatinous Cube.  My only compliant is that I could not do any bubble mitigation.  The floating parts were hung on fishing line so I could not heat up the resin in any way.  Other than that I am pretty chuffed.  More photos and links to how to articles on my blog.

Outstanding!
I'd be pretty chuffed too!

Looks great! Did you mould it straight onto the base, or pour the resin separately and then base afterwards?

Thanks for the nice words all.

I molded it separately then used UV resin to set it to the base.

Awesome work!  8)

I've always been fascinated by these things, imagining one of them gliding down a dungeon corridor towards me, but to this day I have never once encountered one in a game...  lol

'There's a slimy, oozy looking pudding monster -'
"Okay, let's see if this one is hurt by fire, acid, ice, or bludgeoning.  Everyone put away their swords - we don't want to fight two of these!'
'-coming your way.  Roll initiative.'

I have fought, and GM'd, every ooze and pudding in DnD through all 5 editions.  I hate them.  Which is why they are so much fun.

gelatinous cubes and stirges - pretty much de rigueur for low level dungeons back in the 70s.

this is a fantastic take on one.

there's a very good one (for the money) in the Wizzkids range - but this is better - much more convincing in the fluidly gelatinous stakes.
