I'm having trouble finding these rules. Can anyone point me to where they might be on the net?
Many thanks in advance.

Are they the rules that were in Wargames Illustrated some years back?

Not sure about WI. I think they were a free set available from the Vendel webite. That was about 10 years ago, and Vendel has gone. So my request might be a long shot.

They're the same set. They were definitely in Wargames Illustrated though I haven't a clue what issue number. Have you got., or do you know anyone with Wargames Illustrated Prime? They could check for you?

Nope. Definitely not in WI.

The Vendel rules were 100% printed in WI. We played them at my old club, straight out of the magazine :)

The author posted a copy on his blog in 2020, but it seems to have vanished again. You could perhaps contact him?

I've trawled every WI mag on WI prime: there's a set of rules, 'Steel Bonnets', in WI078; and a later three parter set (WI211,12,13)called 'Bloody Borders'; but no "Hot Trod..' that I could see.
Many thanks for the link Steve.

Now I come to think of it "Bloody Borders" does sound very familiar lol
Apologies for wasting your time- genuine mistake :) On the bright side, at least it looks as though you've found the rules via Steve 8)

Not to throw some oil on the fire but could they have been in "Miniature Wargames"?
I had a subscription back then but also on WI......

I don't think so...... I never used to buy MW so it had to be "Bloody Borders" in WI really.

Rebelpublishing.net had them in 2017. Not sure if i picked up a virus looking at the site just now...

Not sure if these are the ones you’re looking for

Terry, yes they are. I've found my copy and sent charla51 a scan of them. They seem to have disappeared without a trace. I can't even recall where mine came from. They are simply a set of pages stapled together in the corner. I have also found a PdF of anothe set from the same era by Daniel Mersey called "With Hakkebutte and Dagge". Again no idea where these came from. I thought is was either his own website or Wargames Vault but I can't find them on either.

I have gone back through my archives and found a pdf of these rules, so if anyone would like a copy please send me a PM.

Many thanks Sunjester, but I've received a copy of them from SJWi. I remember we had some good games with them back in the day. Also useful for ECW skirmish/small actions.

Various people have been asking about a copy of these old rules, so I am reposting a link to them again anyone who wants them.

Cheers, Sunjester. I'm sure they'll be appreciated by many.
Just one question: Page 13, Weapon Stats Chart: does the Range Minus column refer to a deduction from a figure's Ranged Weapon Skill at Long Range?
Many thanks in advance.

That is correct. ;)
