I really like the look of these rules and have almost been tempted to get out the Nappy's for the first time in over five years.
When I started playing I was wanting "simulation" and thought complex rules were the answer. Instead I found there were often anomalies and improbable situations allowed by the rules. I often enjoyed the opening stages of a game, but the last third of a game would be hard going - loss of interest and grumpiness would set in.
I suspect faster playing rules avoid the grumpiness factor and from what I have seen of game reports these give as good simulation as many other (more complex) rules.
I look forward to seeing more reports.
