Hello,
I haven't posted for many years but me and my friend Gordon had a quick game of Triumph and Tragedy last night and it was such fun I thought I'd post a couple of pictures (we were a bit engrossed so I forgot).
The idea was that there were two opposing forces scouting the area for enemy and came upon each other the aim was to hold the bridge at turn 10.
We had a quick Bolsheviks v White Russians game in a village somewhere near the Russian Chinese border.
The forces were on the Bolshevik side
1 hero
20 Naval fighters
10 Regular troops
on the White Russian side
1 hero
10 Czech legion
20 Troopers
we kept the troops to trained to keep things simple this time, here's some pictures
In the first two turns both forces were arriving in the village and taking up positions either side of the river.

By turn 4 the Bolshevik Naval Brigade started shooting but to no great effect the White Russians returned fire but to no great effect.

By Turns 7, 8, 9 the Czech Brigade took the bridge and came under sustained fire from two Bolshevik units but came through unscathed.
The second Naval Brigade stormed the bridge and hand to hand fighting ensued which the stubborn Czechs won destroying the enemy unit.

The Czechs held the bridge supported by a unit of regular troopers and also engaged a Bolshevik unit trying to storm the bridge a bit of mayhem ensued but the Bridge was held at turn 10 the picture above shows the final battle ground.
All in all a great game and good to have played. I always felt you were just one bad dice roll away from disaster which kept you engaged in the game. I've always liked triumph and tragedy and its simultaneous actions (we both kept forgetting and reverting to I go you go sometimes)

Good game - I think anytime the game is so good and involving that you forgot to take photos, is a good thing!
