I've got all the bits I need for my Ronin table except a decent amount of trees for my mountainside village. It's a pretty lush country, so does anyone have a decent suggestion on where to get a mix of appropriate trees for the region? i usually buy Battlefield in a Box stuff, but I don't think their tree offerings fit the Far East so much.
Thanks!

I got a pile of pink trees intended for railway modellers from a Chinese company on EBAY. Pretty cheap and do me as cherry trees.

Those look great! I have a few cherry blossom trees, but nothing lush and green.

Conifers are, not surprisingly, common, given the harsh winters.

Cherries and plums blossom in early spring, and some cherry species have a 2nd fall blossom too. These will appear in specific planted areas.
Wild mountainous areas tend towards broad leafed trees and evergreens, some variation by region:

If you want to go for fall foliage, the Japanese Maples provide very bright reds, Gingkos yellows, and various other colourful trees:

(You could still do two-season cherries at the courtyards/gardens/ponds.)
Kato has some good options:

Bamboo forests can look great. They come in variety of colours including red, blue & black. I bought the 100 various sizes pack from eBay. Painted the bamboo red. The leaves I left green but put GW shade on some to give a dying leaf look.

Do you have a link to these bamboo forests you speak on? Are they still on eBay?
-
I got these bamboo awhile ago for Southeast Asia DBA terrain:

Ah yes, bamboo grows in the mountains too!

A picture of my bamboo forest.

Looks great. How’d you get the paint to stick to that plastic? Did you apply any sort of primer or adhesive?
-
Just primed it with a couple of coats of white undercoat. Then used a couple of coats of red wash as opposed to paint. I was surprised to find the variety of colours for bamboo.
Thinking about it, I can use it for sci-fi games.
