I've just finished some Ral Partha raptors.
I'm not sure about the colour scheme, what do you think?

Lovely. Don't change a thing.

Very, very cool, and very, very neat. If you are uncertain, why donīt you place them in front of some jungle terrain, and see how it works out?
-
I think that is a very good color scheme and very nice painting too!
-
What is there to be not sure about? These are awesome!
-
i think you should strip them down and repaint them a boring green color....that way I wouldn't feel so bad about my raptors. :D
Seriously...great color scheme and great paint job.

Nice!
But I don't like the bases, grey doesn't fit the jungle very well...
-
:o :o
Stunning work PM! I say stick with them as they are (but I agree that the bases being gray just seems off).
-
They are fantastic PM
-
I like the grey bases. They look volcanic. Primeval.
-
Lovely.
I mean terrible, terribly bad, really, really bad.
I'm surprised you can bring yourself to even look at them.
Hey, I know, send them to me and I'll promise you'll never have to see them again.
No, don't thank me, what are friends for after all :)
-
I like it !!!!
-
Wonderful painting PM :o  Don't change a thing. I like the bases, nice and neutral that won't look out of place in the jungle or the streets of New York.

Thank you all for the kind comments! :)
I wasn't too sure about the colours. I was going to paint them a lot brighter like some modern lizards but settled for the earthier colours.
I painted the base black/grey because I remember reading somewhere that there wasn't any grass around when these fellas roamed the Earth. Rhoderic was spot on, I got the idea from Primeval. I thought the volcanic landscape looked cool!
Hey Pat "TheOldSchool", have you been peeking at my workbench? It's weird you said about the Streets of New York. I was looking at using my "Zombie Hunters" for another purpose.................Modern Dino hunting!!
It's all Fritzy's fault for introducing me to the Saurian Safari rules!
Thanks to him I've now got a shelf full of dinos, a 1:43 Hummer I'm turning into a hunter vehicle and 25+ base coated Compys staring at me from my work bench! :freak:

I'm a little late, but... Awesome job!!! You were really not sure?? Wish I could paint like that...
-
I aqm also a little late... They remind me of a cinammom swirl danish pastry from Tescoes with the white piped icing.... Sorry only joking, very nice I like em. :)

Not wanting to be a party-pooper, but why are all the Dino topics in "Colonial Adventures?" What do dinosaurs have to do with that? Shouldn't they be in "VSF" or "Pulp?"
I keep seeing the "New Post" symbol on this board and come here thinking someone has painted some nice new Zanzibaris, Masai, Zulus or something for me to drool over, only to find another damn dino topic!!!!
Not that I have anything against Dinosaurs, they're great. I just keep getting fooled by them lurking in the wrong place.
Love the Raptors, by the way! :)

Now I thought "Jurassic Park" had told people that īraptors are lurking in any place in which you DONīT expect them... much like the Spanish Inquisition.

agree, that belongs in "Pulp".
Moved.

Great paint job, lovely bases.
If you are thinking on a "Primeval" theme I saw some interesting resin pieces by Black Cat Bases:

You might already know about them.

"If you are thinking on a "Primeval" theme " I bagsie the Blond zoo keeper :D

Thanks again for all of your comments! :)
Those Black Cat "Portal" type bases have given me an idea for "spawning" dinos in a modern settinng. Cheers!
Point taken about where I posted the pictures. I suppose i just followed other posts........sorry!
Weirdly enough the raptors have crept into the Pulp section "....clever girl!"

I was going to respond to Chris with "Clever Girl!" You beat me to it! (And I thought he might think I was calling him a girl, so I left it out. )
Wasn't blaming you, Pappa. I figured that's what happened. You can't be blamed for it as there were already a whole pile of dinosaur topics hiding from the hunters there in "Colonial."

Huh, Iīm very much in touch with my feminine side.. more than my velociraptorian side, so to speak.
And I went to see JP1 in the cinema FOUR TIMES... so I guess Iīd have spotted it (as I did with PMīs). Although Iīll have to admit, I only ever saw the German-dubbed version, so itīs "cleveres Mädchen" for me. :D
