Post by: Cacique Caribe on August 16, 2023, 12:41:03 PM
Remember these little alien guys?

I’m aware of only two (dos) sources for Krite-like fur balls, Khurasan and Alternative Armies.  Here are the links:

https://khurasanminiatures.tripod.com/planet15.html

NOTE:  If anyone here knows of any other 15mm sources, please let us know.

QUESTIONS:

A) Does anyone have photos of their games with these sets of figures?
B) What rules did you use?
C) What opponents did you have?
D) And what particular setttings/scenarios did you come up with?
E) Did you use any special terrain?
F) Any other tips/suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Dan

PS.  I’m not sure what game the following stats were intended for, but someone definitely spent a bit of time thinking about these critters and their abilities:

I also found this height comparison:

Not an area of interest for me but have you explored the pre-printed 3D market for options?  I've had some luck finding 15 mm aliens for my Star Wars project - just a little more specific stuff to collect to call it 'complete', though hardly a start on painting with only 1 figure finished and around 30 in just begun progress.  Many, many more to go.

What stuff: Leia and Jabba in the lair and the Mos Eisley band (why not?) and then three more 'units' and a few bits like some more aliens.

Greg

Mos Eisley’s band?  Awesome.  That sounds like such a fun project!!!

If you have a 3D printer, or know someone who does, there are these. They are scaled for 32mm games, but you can resize them.

I think these would fit perfectly what you are looking for.
From Alternative Armies.
I have them . Nice figures.

A):
Didn't use critter figures but did use these: https://cpmodels.co.uk/shop/sf1506-carnosaurs/ (https://cpmodels.co.uk/shop/sf1506-carnosaurs/)
in-game pictures (with 28mm figs): https://toomuchterrain.blogspot.com/2023/01/project-star-wars-first-game.html (https://toomuchterrain.blogspot.com/2023/01/project-star-wars-first-game.html)
B): Fistful of Lead (gave them a d8 for close combat and 1 wound each, but if you use them with 15mm minis I'd give them a d12 for close combat)
C): Jedi & Imperials
D): see in-game picture link. I'll probably use them again in this role (as a random disrupting element in games or as "dogs". I don't have enough for a horde type scenario)
E): yes because the scenario was situated on an alien planet.
