Hey guys,
Don't ask me why, but I suddenly recalled a movie from my childhood - and I'm sure someone here knows exactly what film I'm talking about. I can't find an answer on google as too many modern video games/YouTube videos clutter the results.
A young(?) Japanese emperor and his entourage visit Europe (France, maybe England?) and there Samurai and Knights have a number of competitions. It's all incredibly cheesy, but being unable to identify the film is driving me nuts.
In the end a Samurai cuts through a Knights plate armour in full...etc. They compare Japanese archers with early medieval European cannons, etc. In one instance a Japanese warrior somehow lights a rose on fire with his sword in a pool of water, etc. Complete silliness...but I am now on a mission to identify the film.
Probably from the 1980's or maybe early 1990s? Any help?

Weirdly the concept of the movie is...suitably good. It could have even been well done, but...yeah. Phew.

David Essex Spanish accent is terrible. His speech about Toledo Steel still makes me cringe.

David Essex. Now's there's the hallmark of truly great acting not to mention his unrivalled musical ability. Dave's signal career achievement was to inspire the fabulous Half Man Half Biscuit track Sealclubbing.
Straight to VHS rental was it?

Sho and Kane Kosagi?
I‘ve never heard of this but it’s now jumped high into the viewing queue. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
