Title: What I painted in March of 2024
Post by: nozza_uk on March 06, 2024, 02:23:23 PM
Blimey, we're into the 3rd month of the year already!

A change from sci-fi and fantasy for me. Delving into the world of spy-fi.

Lovely figures, especially the artist's model! I've seen that effect with white, but not with a turquoise! Masterful brushwork!

I painted up the final squad of five for another Xenos Rampant detachment. These are plastics from the Stargrave Mercenaries box. Not the greatest photos that I have taken of my minis. The blue skin is to match the previous batch.

(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFjqQxaNWbNsYNQGhr7TEa0eFuV2KgaoGqd66L3hnbfHGBQIPMuX_3TDYBuY6lqnr2NqO6_kJiyoyvPAKJJmlXt89jrLi4Gbso283fgdfIs5ZZU7JC1mB_pKW_TUso_Pc_GrFNTIGRt3La8czUoMxDa_hGiSG9TERWDfRlSvjfVqKvyQqTdoPuMbn9Ut4/w550-h640/AnadoranHvyInfy_GroupB.jpg)

I do like the grenade launcher arms. Very nice to be holding up the next shell.

(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvXFM6oDV9ozj73RY2EuLCwN8WoutCQXZ4K_BBuex0uTJY8evhQb6gP0ZV_gBCmMRWLYyuqAxbQ1PkNkvTkAP2t2QPWL21MRRMeElVA6mohxlrj7Fj0jcxsINpZtqXNn34RHbjeMhuMnXbFW2-WCtsLZYKOua84RMCvli2q6ATC0qzvD2yT-XlKzLglyw/w640-h470/AnadoranHvyInfy_GroupA.jpg)

The tan and brown metallic uniform was to match a faction of metal miniatures that I had painted up for my post-apocalyptic campaign. Expanding that force of 8 figures into a Xenos Rampant detachment of 20 or so seemed more efficient than starting a new one from scratch.

Due to life stuff, I didn’t paint as much in March, but did manage to complete a few bases of 15mm early medieval cavalry and a character base. Splintered Light figures. They’re decent figures but the dynamic poses make them challenging to fit on a 40mm wide base. I ended up using 40x40 bases to get more room.

Fatigue markers for Saga. Make some use of all those extra heads from plastic kits! Using them for my Thracian army, who were supposed to practice head-hunting according to people who hated them...  lol

Just a portion of what I have painted in March but do to much ado about nothing, not have got to photographing.

My marshal of a Oathmark elven host: the Grand Master of the Suns of the Morning Sun

...and the Knights of the Constellations:

This pretty much concludes the restoration of my old Grenadier elves to my current standards for Oathmark/Frostgrave. They do not quite a full army maketh so I may order som more from Mirliton in the future.

The elves look great! I have been looking for inspiration for painting some elves, so I am glad to have seen these. Do you have a thread with pictures of the rest of the army?

My last bit of March painting.

Captains Picard and Kirk from the Away Missions board game.

I already posted this in my main project log but March (and february) has been a very productive month paint wise.

Indeed I have. Flick through these pages, if you like: link (https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=134552.msg1765392#msg1765392)

Those are wonderful.

Thank you CS. Seeing other people complete so many models is a great push to achieve more and better results.

Dude, you're a machine! There's so much Crooked Dice goodness in here I wouldn't know where to start complementing :D

Definitive stand outs for me are the crazy cat lady (I have her in a blister somewhere, too) and the painter with his lake model. Always wanted to try painting wet sheer clothing, it's such a great effect.

Seeing this thread is really inspiring. Keep it up, mate :)

I have been in a painting slump so far this year. Too much time building my lamasery I guess. I did get these Easter eggs done for my grandkids though.  ...and I have actually got some painting done this month!
