Hiya mate! Good luck with your game too.

I actually have some Mongrel figures on the table, hidden amongst afghans and darkest africa baluchis as "generic tribesmen". Frank is getting back into BoB at the mo'. His last project produced some fantastic stuff.

If I remember my camera I will take plenty of pics (must remember spare batteries) and I'm sure others will take photos too.

I'm just glad to be demoing someting other than Arthurians (after 4 consecutive years). Don't know about next year, might do a return to AWI, James might have ideas of his own (he's keen on an Owain Glyndwr project) and there is always the Timurid project...or the ECW....or the 6mm naps...or the 2mm ACW...or the 15mm WW2...or the Caesarian Romans...or the Greeks...or even more BoB as I'm getting very interested in the Mesopotamian campaign after reading "Battles on the Tigris", just need to build a BIG river and some swamps:-)

...the agony of choice :-)

cheers
Steve

Nicely done, Steve! Love the little armored train. Scale's a bit wonky, but it's the thought that counts.

Indeed :-)

The train was a "hornby, my first train set" for ten pounds at a car boot sale. I've added some plasticard etc but it works out a lot cheaper than any resin train!

Alsom commercial armoured trains are pretty substantial affairs, whereas the transcaspian trains were lash-ups, some without any real "armour" but having cotton bales roped on as a defence.

Anyway, its all in the name of a fun game.

Great as always Steve. I do have quite a few FOA vehicles from John and I'll be looking at the FT 17s for the Finns during the Winter War.  :)

Hi Prof

If you e-mail John at FOA I'm sure he can send you some pics. What I like about FOA is the lovely crisp resin models that are produced, not oversized and they fit in well with most ranges. Brigade Games FT 17 which I've three were the original resin which are nice, but I'm shy with all metal kits especially as the BG FT 17s are now all metal.

I'm currently building up my Finnish Armour which will have four Vickers tanks and some FT 17s. For the later war I'll slip across from the Soviets the one FOA T28 and the two FOA T26s plus armoured cars. Oh, the armoured cars are a real delight too.

All round, FOA are tops  :)

God Bless

Prof, look here, this American store has a number of pics of the FOA vehicles.

http://www.greathallminis.com/SpanishCivilWar/scw_veh_foa.htm

Good value for money, methinks, although I have to say the painting in the pics leaves a bit to be desired.

How they are compared to Brigade FT 17?

Are the armoured cars suitable for the Russian Civil War?

Hi and thanks. The Brigade FT 17s are really nice and I believe in a previous thread Brent was looking at revisiting the Ft 17 as a all resin sold by his company. If this occurs in time then very recommended.

The Armoured cars are not for the RCW period. The Armoured cars are the BA6 and FA1.

However, Brent is releasinga number of A/Cs for the RCW period in which they will be very nice and a lovely scale to fit in with the figures available.

God Bless

The FoA vehicles are very crisp in their moulding and I have one friend who daily bemoans the fact that John at FoA no longer make 20mm WW2 as he considered them the best range available.

FoA are due to relese an IZ armoured car soo, which would be OK for the period. The masters had been done when I contacted John in March, so keep watching the website.

I bought one of Dav Andrews's MkIV tanks at Salute - can't wait to get that on the table...

cheers

Steve, It certianly did look nice in pic form, however I've the Brigade MKIV which I'm doing up for the Gaza Battle. Just now need to buy the new Osprey on MKIV as I don't know the colour scheme for the desert or if indeed they changed the colour at all.

Glad you like the model. I'm looking forward to the Lancia Armoured car from FOA for early desert war actions.

God Bless
