Title: 15mm, no FoW
Post by: dijit on December 03, 2009, 09:01:52 AM
I've got a couple FoW armies in 15mm, and loads of left over minis, particularly commandos and British infantry. I'd like to do some skirmish gaming with them, probably basing them on 10mm washers. What rulesets would you guys recommend and why?

It depends on the type of game you're after.

I'd recommend Nuts! from Two Hour Wargames, for the grim and credible feel for squad on squad games.

For something more Heroic/Adventure feeling with a few characters a side, have a look at Amazing War Stories from Rattrap.

For games of about a platoon a side, you could take a look at World at War from Mongoose or Rules of Engagement from Great Escape Games, both nice rule sets.  WaW seems a bit more "move and shoot" while RoE is much more in depth with the unit customisation and psychology.

Being totally biased (being the author) I am strongly suggesting World at War.

And I shall vote for Troops, Weapons & Tactics by Too Fat Lardies.

Platoon sized forces (30something a side), Card-driven activation, funny ideas and lots of addon and supplements.

Maybe rapid fire for rookies? Easy (only 2 pages) and free download from their website!
