a whole lot of figures are "almost done" but I'm not sure I will be able to finish them by the end of the month... ;D
-
Where are they from!?
Looking good.
-
Thanks,
all the above figures are from Blue Moon Manufacturing available in the US thru Old Glory… nice figures IMHO, the only downside being the cast-on integral bases. :?
-
After "heavy ship work" for our team project "Tsingtao" I painted somewhat for my "WW1/RCW-Triumph & Tragedy-range".
Here are some examples of my collection of Reds, some German regular infantry, Jaegers and Artillery.
Figures are mixed from several ranges: Great War Miniatures, Foundry, West Wind, Black Tree Design, Renegade and Copplestone.

What company did the sailors?
The red sailors in the front are from Copplestone, the far left one from (with the cigarette) from BlachTreeDesign and in the back from WestWinds Russian WW2 range.

Great painting and very nice choices for the figure groups! Show them at the BoB-board, they deserve it ...
:)

Naff all for the third month running! :'(
I've been indulging in a spot of scratch building though.

Love that frothy mix in the lab bottle - spectacular painting!

Really nice work aircav :-*
-
Oh, I think I need some troops with gasmasks.
Big advantage: no painting of the face and eyes. ;)
-
So far this month, I've prepped and primed 18 dinosaurs and 1 human, and gotten no further... Did some scenery, at least, but it's been a lousy month on the painting front, and given the holidays loom ever closer, that's all she wrote for December!
-
I've done slightly better than last month;
Three of HLBS's Triffids;
And a scratch built (paper, cardboard, foamboard, balsa wood, some Lego chain and two empty ink cartriges) river gunboat (28mm), HMS Mahratta;
(For those interested, she's based roughly on HMS Glatton - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Glatton_(1871) )
Apoligies for the truly awful photos, but as you can see in the latter photo the weather's crap, and I can't be bothered to set up a proper shooting area...
-
I hope to get some more done tomorrow but, so far:

A very good month painting-wise. Probably my most productive month ever: 104 miniatures. :o
Greatly helped by having the past 2 weeks off and that some (Somalis) were previously partly painted .
I decided to try and clear my desk at the end of the year, so its a bit of a mixed bag:

174 miniatures painted this year. Unfortunately I acquired 228 so thats a net gain of 54 for the leadpile. ::)

Slow month for painting - been busy job hunting, playing Fallout 3, doing work for friends, and holidays. Just a couple of Warmachine Khador figures painted for my Norwegian VSF forces, and a small Necron fleet for Battlefleet Gothic.

Just a couple of deep ones, black cat bases and strange aeons. Busted my shoulder a week before christmas and haven't been able to paint for more than an hour at a time since then (except terrain, but I'll show that stuff later).

All black & white, colours weren't yet invented back then ;)

Also painted in December 2009.
This is a resin garage kit (sorry not lead) of Edgar Allan Poe. A Caricature Bust Sculpted by Mark Newman.
Not sure of the scale but he is about the height of a soda/soft drink can.

First up my AT-AT dropship I had primed and then set aside for the Build something contest finally got some paint on it. Now Avatar is out I want to change the tail. ::) I will use it as a construction supply ship or similar.

Set 4 of Studio Miniatures Zombies . Pirate Pete is getting a Placard to hold which I am just painting now . The lady on the extreme right bottom I named Jackie after a lady I met on a dating site so I hope she does not see this post. lol I also have Lucy Liu as O-Ren Ishii to lead my Japanese Schoolgirls. There is also a TAG reporter I got free who was painted a day or so after he arrived.

Last up my Naughty Nuns converted Michi style . I also changed some guns as the originals did not look that good . I did heaps of layers of skin tones which got lost under the varnish and lighting . :'( Also there is The Bride and Martha Jones both converted from Foundry figures.

Must admit I never liked the concept when you were playing around with this, but have to confess it looks good now finished, (like the T-rex walker cockpit very nice) Though it would look great in US drab with a pig iron APC next to it (very alienesque!).
Thanks for sharing

Yeah I have to echo the commander and say it looks very good now, even if I wasn't convinced at the start - time for me to go and search for an old ATAT!
-
A lot of beautiful stuff again this month :-*
I must said that my favourite piece is the POE bust… the flesh tones are really great. Nice work silvana! 8)

It took some had tinkering to get it looking like this but it was worth it in the end. I did'nt think it looked military enough to paint it green but will use it as the escape ship for my Aliens type game.

Hope you all don't mind if I tell you a story. Since my daughter was born 2 years ago I have had very little time to game and paint but did have time to cruise the net waiting for her to go to sleep! I looked at wonderful sites like this and Steve Dean's and began to realize that my painting wasn't up to scratch. I tried black undercoat, grey undercoat, 3 layers etc. and failed miserably. It was taking so long I would never even scatch the surface of the lead mountain. I stripped figures and repainted them. Eventually I realised that I had hit 'paralysis by analysis'. I finally tried a simpler approach - paint an area with just the highlight colour over white undercoat and wash with GW washes. It won't win me any competitions but it is quick and is easily good enough for the tabletop.
So in December I have painted:
14 Darkest Africa Foundry Ruga Ruga
6 Westwind Arabs for Chaos in Cairo
4 Artizan Foreign Legion also for CinC
1 Soviet Tanker - the Westwind freebie with the Doomsday supplement for SOTR.
This is more than I have painted in the last 2 years!
No piccies as I haven't got my camera sorted but I will get there.
