Lovely figure and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest painted.
I've always liked the Cherokee. They seemed to be much more stylish in their choice of head-dress than other tribes.
I like a nice hat :D
-
Of course, thanks. I knew they looked familiar.
-
The leftmost figure in the group shot looks like he's sticking out his tongue!

Very dapper chaps indeed. First time I've seen any of this rage painted (apart from the Foundry site) - I've always thought they're such great figures, and have been floating around my wants list for ages now.
Don't Osprey do a book about the ACW in the Indian Territory? A very sad story all round really, especially given how the Cherokees wound up there in the first place.

If they don't, they certainly should, what with some of the other obscure stuff they have been doing!
Ah yes, found it, but currently out of stock on their site :(

That's the one. I've just been reading A History of the Indians of the United States by Angie Debo, and this is a whole part of the Native American story I didn't know anything about. The book's a good read incidentally - a very chunky volume but plenty available on Amazon Marketplace for about 50p.

What it is lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

I love these figures. I wish someone would make mounted versions of the same subject. Foundry had 1 pack of mounted Delawares, but they are no longer up for sale on the site.

I bought it years ago - for much more, it goes without saying ::) - but you are right it is a very good book and probably the best single volume history of the Indians.
-
Cheapest I could see were £5 something, 50p I'd have bought it on the off chance there was something interesting :)

Being the son of a Cherokee woman, I'm always pleased to see Cherokee on the painting table. Looks great so far, Duhamel:)

:) That's very kind of you:) Thanks. You really have done a splendid job here.
Stand Watie (the last Confederate general to surrender, and a Cherokee) is one of the figs we have planned for the Champions of History range. Hope to have him out next year.

thank you for your compliments.
I've just changed to correspond with my period (1830/1850) after reading that Delaware had served as a scout during the war against Mexico, then why not the Cherokee.

Oh cool, is he going to be in Confederate uniform?

Very nicely thought out, well executed figures. My hat is off to you.
A very interesting people with a bittersweet history of trying to adjust to living with settlers in their original and the transplanted home areas.
