This Christmas is apparently the 10th anniversay of the Pig Tickler game by Eureka. To go along with this they've released a couple resculpts.
Referee & player

The new tickler lance is much thicker than before. Being in a very hot climate and not air conditioned, the unicyclists do summer from some droop ove time. The best thing to do is run a length of piano wire stiffener down the length on one side as a 'brake cable'
The referee speaks into a small microphone horn which runs to the box speakers on his helmet.
Indian coal crew for the steam pig

The coal crew is good for so many things!
-
I wondered how many steam boats and steam tanks they'll turn up on.
-
I have got to get some of those -refs as deck crew the stokers (I already have the previous release) now just to wait (in)patiently for them to showup on Eurekas site.Anyword on the clock work zombies or did I make them up?
-
I haven't heard any more about them, I only ever saw the two. I'd guess there should be at least 2 more, I'll ask next year along with a few questions I have over the other new pre releases.
-
Ah, the Light Brigade lancer has been given a pith helmet, excellent. While I'm not a fan of the whimsical thing that Eureka goes for but I will need a few copies of this figure. They'll be the goad handlers for my dino regiments, once given new legs.
-
Have these guys been released yet? I can't find them on the site and I've started working on my Dino troops again so 'need' them ;)
-
God, Dino troops! That's bloody excellent! :D
I love the coal shovellers. They would be great in a steam tank.

They will be if I can get figures...

A quick head-swap and they would be great for African stokers too. The dhotis are not too different from African loincloths.
Ideal as slave workers for my "to do in the distant future" VSF Zanzibari steam leviathan :D

Is the problem the dinos or the riders? I'm sure I've seen something similar using British cavalry mounted on GW's "Cold One" creatures :?
Something I'd also like to do....

In this case the lancer resculpt shown at the top of the thread. I want to alter the legs and get rid of the silly unicycle, then mount him in a howdah mounted atop a Triceratops as the handler. Add a hook to the lance so it can be used to tug on the horns etc to guide it. Essentially a big one of these;

I have a couple of Triceratops and will probably do a similar thing with other medium sized dinosaurs.
For my lancers I have 10 of the new Dark Elf cold ones which are slowly getting their armour altered to fit in better. I have Renegade WW1 British cavalry in gasmasks to be their riders, although I'm going to have a go at giving them hats.
Most of my cav will be Frontier Light Horse, when Empress eventually release them, mounted on 1/35th Tamiya Raptors with a crest and tac added.
I also have two 1/35th Brachiosaurs, they're expensive but fantastic models. The intention is to have a side slung troop transport on either side of them.
Then there's the T-Rex I picked up which is a great model, don't remember who makes it off hand though. I keep having the idea of putting armoured crew on it, but may keep it as an independant.
Finally, aside from the infantry, I have a raptor handler using a Westwind adventurer and a group of HLBS mini raptors.

Ahh cool!
I like the silly unicycles, very Victorian!
I would have imagined a dinosaur troop to be led by a 'controller' opposed to being ridden. But both concepts work well. :)
