Well in the preparation for fatherhood I've been sorting out 'the study', my fortress of solitude as it where and well, I've always wanted one of those IKEA cabinets to stick me wears in (avoiding dust which is a killer as you'll know).
So I present for your viewing pleasure my LOTR figures and scenery I painted about 7 years ago at least!

Lovely display CV. I'll be interested in how you've babyproofed the room in other ways. I'm getting ready for ours and I think I may just have to put a lock on the room until baby's about 10.....

Commander, this really is a nice collection, and what good paint jobs they are! The ruins in the background look stunningly real.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Viko, about 20% of what I have in total in respect to LoTR but all I have in paint! :o Was aiming to get more painted this Christmas but the terminator project has taken over, although I see a window for some Gondorians probably tomorrow, (in the mood for gunmetal! :)).

With a stop a home New Year's Eve I cleaned up two units of Uruk sappers, three bombs, three ladders, 15 men of gondor, 5 mounted knights, three metal zerker's I got through the post yesterday am, read the pelanor fields supplement that I won for 99p. :D
So will undercoat stuff later today and aim to finish off a good few Gondorians to add to the cabinet.

From the title of this thread, I expected Aragorn to be the Duke of Wellington and the logical conversions to follow. Sigh, etc.

Really sweet stuff here. As an ardent fan of the LotR stuff I appreciate it very much. And as Vikotnic pointed out: thoses ruins are top notch.

Thanks all,
Further update:
Well between Christmas and new year I was able to clean up and undercoat my Uruk sappers, berzerkers and other bits and pieces but my main focus was getting a few more of my men of Gondor painted up.
(Will trim and touch up the bases a little later, still to black edge too).
So:

Another four up to armour and wash stages and another eight or so undercoated. Want to get these four finished before I move onto the fountain guard, characters, Faramir & the knights and siege equipment.
Thanks for stopping by.

Brilliant. Keep plugging away at these, it's a great collection.
For my money, the LOTR ranges have consistently been the best stuff that GW has put out over the last few years. And I imagine there'll be more with the Hobbit films. Orcs that aren't brown and no chaos spiky bits - hurrah!

Great stuff well done
