Any chance we'll see vehicle rules?
-
The possibility exists, but on a 2' x 3' table, we're not really sure what function vehicles would serve apart from providing cover.
-
With the exception of flying across the table in very short order I can't really seen any use in them.
-
That said, there are some rules trapped somewhere in the recesses of Uncle Mike's demented mind.
-
Jeeps, steeds, etc. I'd love to see vehicle & mount rules too!
-
Oh, yeah. Keep forgetting these rules are written for a small board.
I asked from the mindset of an expanded table/teams for a larger game than the norm. Still, the rules would be nice to allow for expanded games.

Mounts you say? May want to get your hands on a copy of Shocking Tales #1 :D
-
So, to re-cap. Rules for horses and other animals can be found in Shocking Tales #1...not vehicle rules exactly but a start. There has been much discussion if vehicles would be useful for multi-player rules (in playtest as we speak...) which can be played on a larger playing surface. Personally I like this idea as it would allow both sides access to the rules and would strike some sort of balance. The other alternative is a Driver special agent who would come with a car...the one thing I don't want are vehicle rules that feel 'tacked on' to the game. It is a common failing of many games I.M.H.O. and I don't want it to happen to us.
Anyone kept up at night with visions of a simple yet fun ruleset for vehicles please P.M. me...I am always looking and have little experience with good vehicle rules. Gorkamorka and Necromunda being my sources...

Could do something like GW's Gorkamorka. The vehicles move left and right and a bit forward and back, but the scenery is what moves along the table. (I'm assuming you're looking for something of a chase scene?)
Maybe make a random encounter table for boulders, trees, animals or other hazards on the road that you roll each turn. Have it so for the most part it's clear, but a 1-2 in 6 or 3 in 10 there is something to avoid.

Motorcycles!
I think if you make vehicles "expensive" in their build, it'll suit the people who really want them but not be for the casual player. If you really want it, you have to pay for it. And then of course it needs to be worth it's cost.
As for movement, I'm a fan of vehicles being treated as player characters with the same freedoms/limitations. I'm not in favor of them being just mobile terrain.

The next vehicle will be the dog sledge...see what happens after that one is up and running.
