The rules you linked to are for the clix version of the game. I'm not sure which battle report you are looking at, but if it is the non-clix version, you will want to look for the rules from FASA and not WizKids.
-
Okayyyyy cause i really dont wanna use clix :| might just try and grab some free aerial combat rules
thanks for that though ill keep looking

The rules are very much out of print, so you'll have to depend on a lucky Ebay find to get the rules...
As an alternative, might I suggest Crimson Eagles? It's a fanmade hybrid of the old Crimson Skies rules and setting with the Crimson Eagles rules.

Good hunting!

Funny you should mention crimson eagles i stumbled across it last night
Cheers guys

I didn't mind the WK rules. I still think WK would have had a more successful game if they had made it using dragons and other mythical flying beasts and used Mage Knight heroes as the aces.

You can get the planes from Iron Winds metals.http://ironwindmetals.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=14&osCsid=c876cced3a656f18a6e7b81b8b94d3d9

Funny, I was looking in to this as well. The rules used to be available online somewhere I believe, but I cant remember where...

Current eBay auction if you're interested in paying 50 bucks for it.

It took me some searchin', but I managed to grab everything they printed over the span of last month. I don't think Ral Partha Europe has the core rules, but they still have a few sourcebooks for fairly cheap.

no they haven't had it for sale since Ral partha europe reformed
Also if you have the box set it comes with 3d card aircraft so you can use those at 1st ,u dont need to spend more on metal aircraft yet.

Yup. I found a site the other day that had hexagonal tokens of all the main aircraft from the boxed set, but I can't seem to find it at the moment. I'll look again once I'm at home and toss up a link.

That would be awesome.

Crudeboy, did you mean this one? (http://www.toposolitario.com/workshop/crimsonskies.html)

Those are nice hexes. I like the flipped damaged version. Perfect for a game if you don't have the metal planes.
-
Cheers for the help guys.
Tho tbh i think im just gonna turn to some Aircraft modelling.
Cheers for all your help

I'm surprised WK never did a constructable card version like their Pirates and Star Wars.
I think it would have had more than just the WK game players getting them.

The original rules included such constructable card planes in very nice multicoloured print!

I know, but I think WK would have made a mint on it if they had.

Clix type Crimson Skies plastic planes are out there in profusion. Should be able to find them on bargain bins at hobby stores. Would expect there would be some on ebay. My family has a box of the darn things that I was planning to convert for Wings of War, but haven't gotten around to it...
-

Those are precisely the ones. Thank you. :)
Yeah, I had a bunch of the clicky planes on my eBay watch list, but never got around to getting them before they were taken down and/or bought. I probably should get on that again. Too busy grabbing Heavy Gear stuff, I suppose. I used to have a bunch of WizKids' Crimson Skies planes, and I will say they are definitely worth getting, and as far as I recall roughly the same scale as FASA/Ironwind Metals' planes. You can find them for pretty cheap, at any rate.

nice stuff guys
