Hi folks,
here are the first pictures of my latest project, a modular trench:

A few more pieces, including inner and outer 30° angled pieces for zig-zagging trench lines, are being painted as I type (well, obviously not, as I type and do not paint, but you get the idea)
For the backside, I tried to stay away from the common wooden boardings, and settled for a mixture of wooden beams, mud and wattle, as seen in quite a few pictures of WW1 trenches. I think it gives a good impression of a trench which had to be repaired repeatedly with the materials at hand.
To avoid repeating patterns, I made another straight section. Duckboards, a 90° angle, and a destroyed section will be next.
Opinions?

Great Stuff..how did you make the sandbags?

Proper job. I like.
Too lazy and inept for that kind of malarky myself, so I make my trench sections with my credit card.
Those are really good, though.

Nice!
I like the approach where the trench system isn't a big block of resin.
It would be nice (:? ) to include some corpses or bits of bodies like skulls, booted legs and hands as well in some parts of the trench system.
You also need to consider latrines, OP's CP's and dug-outs where squaddies can just get some kip. And you need bloody big puddles in the middle of some duckboards as well...
Looking forward to this as much as the tank...

Then buy them as soon as they are available! Then he can commission me to make more mechanical accessories!
I love them.

Thanks, all!
Lt. Hazel, the evil S-things are made from Milliput. I made about 150 of them for the trench sections so far, as well as some stand-alone sandbag emplacements: (http://pardulon.com/img/galerie/w005/w005_3.jpg)
Adam, theoretically, you are right about the corpses. I decided against this for various reasons, mainly because I think that corpse parts stick out a lot more than wooden beams and stones, and generate a tile effect.
Latrines, listening posts and dug-outs will certainly be done, though.

Oh yes, Zafarelli is the Pardulon chap, isn't he? Sorry, I had forgotten that. I thought these were just a home-made affair. I didn't realise they would become available for sale.
Unfortunately I have already started buying my trench system from Tablescape, and I fear these won't match what I already have.
Bummer.

A few more sections are done:

Plynkes, they _are_ a homemade affair, but that doesn't stop me from making them available

Ahh.. good point.
You could do a bag of "bits" to customise sections according to purchasers whims...

Yup, accessories are somewhere on the menu, though I was thinking more on the lines of boots, helmets, canteens, dead rats etc., which could be littered on the duckboards or on the parapet. I am not too sure about body parts, realistic as it might be, I think it would be a bit tasteless.

Agree on that. While there are records of unburied bodies being excavated by shelling in WW1, I think the actual depiction on the tabletop should best be left to that obnoxious GW crowd. And a lonely boot, with maybe a medaillon beside, is IMHO far sadder than any amount of gruesome body parts. :(
