I enjoyed both of these entries quite a bit. What range are the Girls Gone Wild minis from?
Jim

Very hard ,and the Prof and I did a similar entry(even the same figure in one case) so my vote ges for.......oh bollocks, give me time...........
-
School is in session! :-*
-
Very hard choice indeed…
both entries are very top.

I don't know how you do it, Prof, but you always manage to make your colours look so lustrous. Who *does* your makeup? Is it the camera, good photoshop-fu or simply a knack for colour composing?

thank you! Not sure, maybe colour highlighting :)

The vibrant colours got me, as well. :-*
-
Two very nice entries!
:-*
Where are the girls from?
Prof, the two warrior types are from Reaper?

The three warriors are from Reaper, the half-giant is from Grenadier and the giant is from Otherworld.

Glad to see you back competing Prof!
Nice entry!

A really tough decision.
While the colours in the Sons of Ymir are rich, beautifully applied, expertly chosen and the whole deal is situated against a nice backdrop, it was the well executed and understated realistic tones that made me vote for the Girls.
I suspect that if the girls were photographed against as Skull island type backdrop or something that they would have garnered more votes.
Well done to both entrants.

That's what I thought, too. Excellent painting job on those girls.

both great entries ..... But I favor the Sons of Ymir

Dolmot's girls are terrifying, but the paint job on that big blue frost giant (I think it's a frost giant) cinches it for the Sons of Ymir. Tough match-up, this one.

Love that girls!!! I don't know which minis are from... high high level both entrances...
-
I think the girls are from Hordes "Circle of Oboros", I'm interested in buying them for quite some time now. There are more different poses and wolf riders I think.
cheers Thomas

Yep. Those and more can be seen here (http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gallery/circle-orboros/units). They work nicely as remote island cultists and such. Fairly affordable on PP scale and nice sculpts too, but was it really necessary to tuck thirty tiger teeth to every model, and put a mile of bandages to every limb with slight mould lines on top? >:(
Apparently they're getting beaten this time, but at least they went with their boots on.
No, wait...
Anyway, nice to see that there's plenty of love and buzz in this topic.

Great work on both entries, hard choice!
The Girls nicked it for me despite the great level of painting from the Prof.
The look of the leather really came through and I love how very similar the models are painted at the same high standard.
Top from both, had to choose one... o_o

Very nice entries from both. Those are very colorful barbarians and they are going into my painted miniatures from others folder. :-* Thanks

The girls come from Privateer Press - Orboros range - they belong to the Tharn theme. This theme can fairly be use for Hyperborean characters. The males are huge kind of weresomething bersekers, they rip the heart of their ennemies during battle :D , the girls are dreaful hunteress or witches lol. Excellent for the northern evil land of Hyperborea.
The poses are quite dynamics for all the range to bring the feeling of savage behaviour.
The sculpt is excellent and full of details, but you will have to take time to put together those multi part minis, and believe me it is quite a pain in the a**. Took me a great deal of stress. But once painted they make lovely ennemies for the cimmerian heroe.
The other quite negative point is the price… They will cost you an arm. But has we say around here - the price will be forgotten when quality stays.
Cheers
