anyone got a link or info on the french order of battle for the second opium war and fighting on Taku Forts

Post by: HerbyF on February 26, 2010, 12:57:51 PM: Good luck I haven't seen much, except maybe some rough numbers of men and what ships they came from. Some of the numbers don't even differentiate between sailors & marines.

a real gem of a website search the pdf list copy and paste into the search engine viola loads of stuff
SVENN the full british expeditionary list of regiments posted to china is in their also, there are thousands of lists

also this one is superb from the GWP site great for uniforms I just love these guys that do all this worth their weight in Gold

Siaba your the man great stuff yes i would love this further info at least i can tie the units into the uniform types I take they were very second empire iniforms

Post by: the Mutineer on February 27, 2010, 10:16:15 AM: My current Mutiny stuff would do for parts of the 1860 army the first cavalry will be probyns horse so again could be used in China and we have plans for airpipe hilmet head swaps later on, all I need is some french and a million Chinese lol lol lol lol lol lol

Post by: Siaba on February 27, 2010, 12:52:58 PM: I have the figures for the Opium war. I had the opportunity to buy most of them before FOUNDRY stopped the range. I still need a few more british units. So, if you plan to produce them, you have at least one potential customer.

Post by: Hobbit on November 06, 2011, 07:32:47 AM: Osprey do a book on the Taiping Rebellion that includes some info on this period and Foundry do a book on Chinese Armies in the 19th century. There is a brief overview and a bibliography in The Colonial Wars Sourcebook.
