Title: Walkers in 28mm
Post by: Heresy on February 28, 2010, 11:48:10 AM
Hello!

I present you two Walkers from Westwind. IMO, they are too dark (I overdid it with inks and filters :S). Opinions?

Too dark? Hell no! Very, very nicely done. A beautifully subtle colour tone, and those fine paint chippings are very convincing.

The darker tone makes them look used and worn rather than fresh off the production line, it works brilliantly.

I love the model on the left, not that the other one is bad just the asymmetric style isn't so much my thing.

They look great, and, as mentioned, the weathering effect you used is top notch, extremely well done. I also love the camo scheme you used on your infantry, like to see a better look at it if you get the chance. Thanks for sharing.

They look fantastic.  They really look convincing, your weathering techniques are particularly brilliant.

Ah no I simply ment that the one on the left has two arms while the one on the right has one arm and a shoulder turret so is asymmetrical in design. Still great though.

The darker and gritty paintjobs in respect to SOTR are my direction of travel too, very nice indeed.

Ditto on the camo, very clean, close ups please.

Great paintjobs. I don't think you've overdone it at all. They should look dark and menacing.

I really need to find some tutorial for the worn off paint on the edges... Looks amazing.

I agree with earlier comments - a very good paint job and I  don't this you have over-done the washes or filters.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay in replying (studies...) and thanks you for your comments!.

How'd you do the chipping?

In my blog you can found several post about it, and a videtutorial!
