Whoa! That's a great start!  What scale are those? 20mm?

Wish they still made them. Awesome background. Some of Blanche's best artwork too.

I sold everything you see pictured in the DM gallery and here.  :'(  Moment of weakness when faced w/ the slow death of Warlands. Bad support, kinda crap minis, and a not-much fun game killed it for me , so I moved on. Sold my DF lot to fund some other project.

Fast Forward to 2014, and the Mad Max: Fury Road trailer! :o :D :-*   Went hog-wild, got a ton of minis, the actual DF boxed set, White Line Fever, the WD articles (all post-free download that GW killed...  >:(), the whole shebang. Nearly complete on the minis, so it is time to paint!

Also driven to madness by TooBooCoo and his DF project, and his introducing me to the Outrider game, and its Kickstarter. Printed up the free rules, liked what I saw, and pledged, unfortunately after the Legendary levels were already gone, but still big!

After all my dark Ages painting, I'm looking forward to a big change. Converting the cars MAY just be the most fun I've ever had w/ miniatures...

This is the lot I've chosen for the "It's Alive!" project. I'll take decent pics of the finished car and pedestrian a bit later to show what the goals are. One other car w/ driver is done, but not the matching ped, so that will wait.

Another driver on the way, and one still to be hunted down! Anyone have:

http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/File:DF600210.jpg

that they could let go? LAST driver I need!

Cars subject to change as I mindlessly acquire more... ::)

Here is the first of 14 pairs of car+driver and matching pedestrian for the project. The Biz, Renegade Op, and his ride, the BizNiz:

Next, GG Allin, one of the founders of the Allin/Ballard/Thirwell Agency, a Sanctioned Ops unit operating out of the BUFF/HRST/MORE PZ:

And, not part of the Its Alive, but a crucial part of my DF world, JG Thirwell, GG's partner and Sanctioned Op:

Can you tell I'm enjoying myself? ;)

Next up, the awful mess made when you dismember a Matchbox car! Stay Tuned!

And he got started  :) top performance, Chris, and very cool cars. Where are they come from?

The BizNiz is Matchbox, the other 2 are Hot Wheels. Minimal conversions on all of these, mostly tinkering w details and repainting. And guns! :)

Very effective. That gives me ideas, I'll have to look for these Dark Future rules.

Stan Johanssen and of course the old DF line from GW

The Warlands line from Aberrant fits, but they are pretty piss-poor sculpts. I've been begging Tre Manor to sculpt some, but he resists... ::)

I've got spares, if anyone is interested! ;)

Stan Johansen. I'd forgotten him. Very large and good collection there. Too bad about his new international posting flat rate of $45.

If you only want some drivers and such, give Stan an email. He worked with me and also made up special packs.

Are you going to have the customary blood and fecal matter that was usually smeared on GG? lol

GG found different ways to get all that anger and aggression out, like therapy sessions, a weekly meditation, and high-octane road carnage!

Your stuff looks phenomenal. What a shame that the only good miniatures at this scale are nearly 30 years old and impossible to find or ludicrously expensive. I looked at the Stan J and Warlands figs,  and I have to say the sculpting made me recoil. Do they look any better in person? Maybe it's just the paint jobs? Oh well, perhaps the new movie it will inspire someone to come out with a better range. I'd be interested to see what Tre can do at this scale too  :D

The Stan j and Warlands are just not very good. Tre is just not interested. Patrick Keith is doing 3 new sculpts at 20mm, the same scale as DF, so that is good. I was just involved in a lengthy debate on FB where I suggested this might be a good niche to fill and get some business, and I was shouted down by folks saying there is just not enough interest to warrant doing a new line. Too bad really. I think the market is there, and the lack of interest is due to the complete lack of good minis available.

Was that in our group?  I think there is definitely a market there for a decently sized line of quality minis.

Ah, I missed it.  I think those conversations are hard to have on pages dedicated to specific games.  But we were talking about it in the general group over the last couple of weeks.  We all agreed it was an awesome idea!

I contacted the Perry's and Alan was very nice saying that they left Sci Fi/Fantasy with GW...  I can respect that. I think if someone came out with quality 20mm not-Mad Max sculpts, they would have a gold mine.  If I could sculpt, I would have done it 5 years ago....

Patrick claims he will be lucky to sell 10 sets of his 3 new minis, and may possibly make up the cost of mastering them after several years. :?

I found it a bit hard to believe, esp considering the interest right now. I tried to convince Tre to have a set ready for the Fury Road release, but again, no luck.
