Title: New Range of Swashbuckling Figs??
Post by: dominic on May 24, 2007, 10:52:20 PM
Hello,
I did a silly thing recently...
I went and bought the moulds for the following 28mm figures sculpted by Josef Ochmann:

Now, before I go and throw more good money after bad, I'd like to see if there is any interest among you guys to see these figures in production.

If interest is good, I could send the moulds out to a casting company and get the figures casted.

So what do you guys/gals think?

Not really my cup of tea, but fans of Mr. Murray's game would probably snap up that top one. The bottom one would be quite useful for a variety of games too, but I think the middle one is just horrid.

I'm very keen on the first one, as I believe I pointed out on TMP when the sale of the mould was announced. The second one, I'm afraid, doesn't really strike me as a swashbuckler aside from the high boots. I like the third one but I have too many men of the cloth as it is (if I get them all painted, I could almost run an entirely monastic Gloire campaign!).

In regards to sculpting, I like all three.

Same for me, the top one is deligthful. :)  The second one leaves me a bit cold, nice enough for Robin Hood, and the third photo I can't see

Thanks guys.  Keep the comments coming.  They are useful

@Malamute - the pics are back up.  Must have been a temporary server glitch.

I like the first and third too but I'd probably buy all three sets to support the effort.

I like the old Metal Magic minis very much. The first one is still missing in my collection and I'd buy him of course.

Have you got them from Mega Minis? Every time I looked at their moulds for sale there were only ugly and boring figs, you must have been lucky then.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Looks like there is some interest to have these figs produced.
I will send the moulds out after I find a good figure caster.

Price of the final figs will depend on the casting cost.

I'll keep you all posted.

@Witchfinder - Yup, I was lucky (or unlucky - depends how you look at it!)

Finally got round to making a limited run of these figures.
Check out the Bazar of Obscurities for details.

Cheers!
