Excellent work from both, Cargo bay wins it on type of figures for me as the rest is equally good!

@Froggy: cool background, I'm so gonna loot your scratchbuilt "crates", great idea!

Great stuff both! - I have always had a weakness for redheads though

Go right ahead, I blatantly looted it from someone else.

This was a tough choice for me. Both are very good.

I fear I'm about to break board etiquette and protocol here.

I found the voting to be a no brainer.
Froggy's got some fantastic detail showing, highlights, shading and lining.

Kudos for the correct colors of the 44th, but the colors are pretty flat looking.
(Though I'll concede that red, yellow and white aren't easy colors to work with.)

I don’t know… I voted for SI’s entry.

Although the pictures are a little blurry, there’s obviously some shadings and highlights done on the figures… it’s all a matter of personal taste I suppose.

I found the voting to be a no brainer.

Then I'm happy to have made it easy for you!  lol

I think these are the best figures I've painted so far and as such am very pleased with them but I wouldn't put them to the vote if I was at all precious about others liking them or not. I'm realistic enough to know I'm not a fantastic painter - I'm more a Jack of all Trades than a Master of anything - but I do appreciate constructive criticism as that and practice is what makes us better.   :)

TBH it's not difficult to get the colours right, especially when the regimental museum is only a short drive away.  ;)  It's the first time I've painted red and yellow but I'll certainly bear your comments in mind when I paint the next batch. Cheers.

Thanks for all the votes so far - much appreciated.  And well done to Froggy.  :)

Thank you.

Are your figures based on pennies?

Your welcome!  :)  The red heads are particularly nice, though I'm partial to blondes myself. :D

Yep, mine are on pennies.  The minis are from Crusaders's Rank & File range, which come with quite thick bases so I shaved them back a bit so they'd look less like they were standing on hillocks.

For what it's worth, mine are based on pennies as well.  Actually, most if not all of my figures are.

$0.01 per base, constant size, and I'll never run out - get that sort of deal from GW, I dare you.

Nice work to both of you!

Froggy, I found your work really evocative and inspirational for my own sci fi projects. And I love your storage containers!! I have been trying to come up with a cheap, easy source of futuristic storage units that would cost a fortune because they are high-end resin display pieces. Sooooo, I just informed the wife that we are now collecting any and all beverage bottle tops. I even showed her your entry pic. She's none too happy with either of us at the moment.  :D :D :D

SI, I would have happily voted for your entry against any number of ones that are in other races. Unfortunatley you're up against Froggy's fantastic entry.

Froggy, my favourite entry of the LP League thus far! Characterful!  :-*
