Greetings and salutations Gentlefolk.. long time no visit as long time no game !!
Back on the cusp of the eve of potential or even possible dice rolling
and looking for some direction and inspiration..
I have a mixed bag of Fantasy scenery and a 3X3 ft game board set up.
Between my collection and other potential gamers on the scene we have
a very mixed bag of fantasy figures (mostly GW ) monsters and historical figures.
(Vikings, Knights. Apachees Normans etc )
I am on the search for the simpliest / fastest set of skirmish rules that will help
me pitch this mixed bag of figures into fun fantasy strewn exciting little one or
two hour scraps for 2 to 4 players..
any offers for due consideration and pondering would be most welcome indeed..
yours forever hopefull of getting a maid ! Mousy.
sorry just spotted previous similar thread.. of to read it second Doh !

Songs of Blades and Heroes...

if you're at Salute, one of the Frothers games is using the rules so you can have a dabble before hand...

I second and third that.

Yep, what the guys above said :-*

Yep - SoBaH's got some neat little mechancis and is quick to play - and cheap too.

Ditto on the SoBaH recommendations. It is a very simple system (every model has a mere two stats, plus some special rules), but undeniably great fun and pretty intuitive. This (http://www.ganeshagames.net/files/pages/download/sbhform.html) handy little tool allows you to create characters from scratch and accurately calculate their point value. Neat, huh?

An umteenth ditto for Song of Blades and Heroes - it's got what you've asked - fast, cheap, simple, open for mods so you can use whatever models you'd like.
-
... and it's got a good Yahoogroup for extra house rules, warbands etc etc.

Just in case no one else has mentioned it, Song of Blades and Heroes is pretty good. :D
