Hi,
Here’s few photos (taken by Martin of Zero Gravity Products) of the Isandlwana game at WMMS 2010 (well hopefully they are the photos – its my first attempt with Photobucket…….)
They show the British defence of the ‘rocky ridge’ (supported by the Royal Artillery), the Natal Native Mounted Contingent (supported by G Coy 2/24th) and finally a shot of the table from the Zulu end, showing the British firing line

The figures are old Foundry (with a lot of conversions for officers etc).
Cheers

Looking good, what scale are the figures?
-
They are Foundry i think mate.
-
honestly, the first thing I thought was 15mm - so many miniatures
amazing battle!
great figures!
-
Yes the chap has been collecting them for many years, looks good dont it?
-
good?
more great
did they actually game or is it a display only?
-
That i dont know, probably gamed but will find out.
-
Yeah, I always like to know who won in Isandhlwana games.
:)
The scenario that gave the World the "recycled Zulus" mechanic lol
Very nice pictures, thanks.
I've played it in 1 to 10 ratio (that was still a big number of Zulus, movement trays of 40 figures, 2 to 8 trays in a unit , companies of 8-10 Brits with officer and bugler, etc.)

Hi,
The game was palyed - althought not to a conclusion.
I can't stand display 'games' that are set out and nothing moves.....thats a diorama.
"The scenario that gave the World the "recycled Zulus" mechanic" - you just need a set of rules which does not need the removal of Zulu casualties.......
Wow your big Isandlwana sounds impressive, I have a mate who does Rorke's Drift 1:1 - he's got a permenant set up at his house.
Cheers

:D
with the movie running on a beamer screen?

:D
with the movie running on a beamer screen?
I fear it might be possible.....
All his collections are on an epic scale - he is planning a massive Isandlwana using 80 man companies and (literally) thousands of Zulus.
-
Very nice.

This looked awesome.
I saw it and bent over to my girlfriend and said 'Is it sad that I know it's Islandlwhana because of that bloody great lump of rock?'...
She replied 'Yeah, now stop dribbling over the poor man's table!'. lol
