What kind of rules do you use for Old West-gaming?
-
I use Legends of the Old West for gunfights & skirmish. The Sword and the Flame for larger battles.
-
I have LOTOW and TRWNN.
I prefer LOTOW because I am more used to/comfortable with GWs rules.
-
Here's a whole list:

I'm partial to Fistful of Lead (cause I wrote 'em)

Thanks for the list Baron!

All those mentioned above are good, as are Gutshot and Sixgun Sound.

Gutshot and Six Gun Sound are nice sets. My favorite is Tombstones and Tumbleweeds http://www.pigames.net/store/product_info.php?cPath=49&products_id=465 (http://www.pigames.net/store/product_info.php?cPath=49&products_id=465)

Ditto for me though I have dabbled with LOTOW

Me too, but I found it wanting!

I'm using The Rules With No Name. They're a good beer and pretzel set of rules, probably not very good for the serious gamer though ;)
-
Mine are only $6......

Fistful of Lead are listed as $12.00 here :

:(
Mind you that's not exactly extortionate, even with the $5.00 shipping to the UK lol
I'm a sucker for reading rules, even if I don't get to play many games. I might have to order a set in the near future ;)
-
$6 is for a pdf download. No S&H for that.

I'll happily give "Fistful of Lead" the big thumbs up :D
Great little set of rules if you fancy some simple fast and furious gun play without loads of bells and whistles attached. I love the card activation system, being a little unusual in that certain cards can give you extra bonuses when drawn. The rules definitely benefit from a good scenario to make the best of them but are perfect for acting out all your old favourite cowboy movies.
.....and they're dirt cheap too!

Where from? I can't find the pdf on the Neo-Forge site, only the printed version :(

I just got the Fistful of Lead rules this week. Going to be trying them out with my sons this weekend. They look very good on reading them, and I expect they'll play well from what I've heard.

I've always been a "Gutshot" man, just 'cause it's a good system, I'm freinds with the authors, and thats what everyone plays here.
Baron, I've heard nothing but good about your opus. ;)
Herby, SATF for big battles? I'm intrigued (thats my Colonial game).
Do tell more?

Hurrah! Rules ordered. Thanks very much :D

Enjoy,
Yes my rules are for conventions and "hey let's throw a game together". I'm currently working on a campaign system (which I hate). We have a Yahoo group with some extra content.
I've heard nothing but good about Gutshot, but I don't really like LOTOW. Just me. I'm simple.
