Title: Color of Brick on Adobe Buildings
Post by: Mr Ray on March 29, 2010, 10:41:14 PM
You know how a lot of adobe buildings have areas where the adobe has fallen off and brick is showing through. Would the brick be made from clay and red or would it be more sandy looking. This would be for the SW USA by the way. And also, howdy everybody, this is my first post!

Basically, whatever the earth is made of in that area.  Red clay = red brick,  yellow desert = yellowish brick.  Especially, uncooked mud bricks.

And welcome.

I wasn't lying, man.  I was serious.  Look to the color of the Earth where they were made.

Smokey,
I didn't think you were. I'm going for a yellowish brick for the southwest.
