Great entries gentlemen. I have a question for each one of you.

Who makes the captain with the lightning rood staff?

And who makes those wolves?

Rob

 ;)

Transylvanian VSF 1900

By way of explanation…

Colonel Székely leads his Carpathian Rifles into battle, his patent electro-lance force generator to the fore. The Unorthodox Patriarch of Clüj lends spiritual support, while the lesbian crew of the ‘Pokol’ steam-driven machine-gun-carriage pause to enjoy a black Turkish cheroot.

As befits this ancient Principality steeped in gore, the forces of the Autonomous Entity of Transylvania wear uniforms the colour of dried blood, beneath caps of shaggy white wolf fur. The blue facings stand for the skies above the Carpathian Mountains, where giant bat-winged aeronefs plough the azure heavens.

Coming next…

Prince’s Vlad’s vampiric ‘Bridal Guard’ hussars
Vrölok’s Gipsy Horse, and their infernal, steam-powered war wagons
The dire wolves of Wallachia – ichor-fuelled mechanical predators, and their fearsome Cossack riders.
Ördög’s Mailed Fist – the ancient, feudal cavalry of Transylvania, 500 years undead.

More Gothic Horror crossover, I suppose – but VSF potential, don’t you think?

Captain, who makes the priest?

He's a TAG Renaissance freebie - I thought he looked the part of the Unorthodox Patriarch of Clüj!

Who makes the captain with the lightning rood staff?

He's from one of the innumberable West Wind Vampire / Vampire hunter packs, but I'm afraid I can't remember which one. He's carrying a spear. The 'electro-lance' is a not-very-cunning conversion by yours truly involving the spring from a biro and a blob of milliput!  ;)

Who makes those fantastic cossacks?

Copplestone Back of Beyond Siberian Rifles.

Both are really nice entry 8)

I voted for Captain Blood but it was a tough call…
Did the HQ issued silver bullets to his troops for this campaign? ;)

Captains mentioning of Clüj won the vote for me. Reminds me of Gigi Becali (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigi_Becali)...

"The love that dare not speak its name" has instead taken to barreling through Victorian society full steam ahead, eh?

I say, those actor types. No sense of morals. Almost as bad as Frenchmen and Anarchists.

Heh heh...
Well I'm thinking that sexual morals and proclivities amidst the gothic splendour of the savage Carpathian fastness may have been a little different to Victorian England  ;)

lol That's as far as the Captain will bend to conform to the aesthetics of Malamute and his posse over at VCF.

Well I figured that's what VSF enthusiasts do... Cobble together various bits of scrap and cry 'Voila! I have invented a new machine' - and it's science-fiction, so no-one can possibly argue!  The only limits are one's imagination :)

both entries are flawless

since CB appears to intend a bigger project, I allow myself to offer a Romanian adventure movie, but a about an earlier period, more closer to CB's "usual" time-slice

I hope it is funny and inspiring at the same time
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6010549769776372882#

and since the project appears to be Hungarian themed, I also offer the Hungarian name for "Cluj" (which is romanian and written without dots): Kolozsvár

But if You aim at romanian too, I could help with some translation  ;)

The only thing I am not happy with is the red-blue scheme, but this is simply a matter of taste

Holy Crap, this is one of the toughest choices this season - together with the martian duell. I must admit I don't like the red uniforms. But I think they are one of the best I've seen from Captain Blood so far, and i had to vote for them. I was surprised at how clear the votes are.

Did you plan to use Hinterland (Mancha's) figures for these?

I already have!  ;)
They're already painted - and Mancha had a private viewing a couple of weeks ago!  8)
Unfortunately, as I've entered them in another painting competition, I won't be able to show them here for a couple of months.
But I will due in due course  :)
