I have posted pics of our Great War game in the Great War Gallery on my website. The game was a british attack on a section of a German rear guard action durig the 1918 retreat. We used the new Price of Glory rules from Iron Ivan Games, the figures are by Great War Miniatures and the Whippet is from Brigade Games.

I take it the British were successful in their breakthrough?
Great looking game as usual.

Yes Op5, the British marksmanship was superb throughout the game, the same cannot be said of their opponents. I will try to do a write up before my visit to your West Coast next week.

Excellent. This is what we want. I order you to do more of this kind of thing.
Even though I've only played it once, from what I've seen of it I really like "Price of Glory." How did you find it?
Edit: Correction, I haven't played it, I umpired it.

Nicely done :)
God Bless

Very nice. Those Great War figures are lovely. Shame I've already got loads of Renegade in the 'must do that one day' pile.
I was thinking of picking up a copy of Price of Glory. What's it like as a skirmish / platoon level set of rules?
Nice terrain too!

Very nicely done, Phil. Particularly like the Whippet.
I am going to do some Great War once my damn Historicon preparations are done.

This is only because the britsh list in PoG is pure powergaming, while the german list is far to limited

I thought the lists were the same for the European armies? Have I missed something

I think he's pulling our legs. The lists in the book do not have national characteristics, just different levels of morale and training. British and German troops are treated the same.
The person putting together the game scenario has to rate the individual units himself if based on an historical fight, or buy their abilities with points if not.

Ideal for platoon level games, we have only played at this level, games may play out to long with anything bigger, lots of dice rolling involved and different weapon/troops characteristics. But as there is only the two of us who knows with more players involved perhaps not. I would certainly recommend them, good value for money and they are well supported by the author(s) on the Iron Ivan Yahoo group.
