I just dug out my mint new-in-the-box Gorkamorka set.
And instead of putting it on Evilbay, I broke it open, and promtly built the ork fortress :D
I'm going to play Nuclear Renaissance, as I tried the rules last weekend, and like them. They just need scenarios, but I'll do something with scrapheaps and searching for resources and pre-apoc artefacts - the usual stuff, really, but the main thing is:
I am going to use (among Warzone, Judge Dredd, and other GW minis not to mention Ramshackles own, and Spinespur minis, plus whatever I fancy) da orkses for muties. Wartraks and Trukks alzo be nice for dat!! And the fort is just GREAT for a fortified boneyard.
BUT - here's the thing: When I use orks as muties - how should I paint them?
-
Putrid olive-brown skin with radiation disease scars.
-
Varying, the radiation will affect many, youve inspired me to whip out all my 40k models and play Nuclear Renaissence so I thank you!
-
Human skin colour. And some headswaps of human and zombie heads.
I paint my rogue trader era orks all human flesh.
The trukks are great. I have one Digger trukk and use it with future warriors Savages.

Magnificent replies 8)
@ Abhorsen: We aim to please :D
My take on NR will be to first use a lot of models I already have, then supplement with stuff from Ramshackle (and other sources).
I also have some idea to 'enhance' the setting to be able to use minis that are more 'high tech' sci-fi - at least in the look.... more to this later, though.
-
I've always liked red orcs, but varied colors like yellow, brown, and gray would be interesting too.
Fallouts east coast super mutants come in some really good colors.
-
Any pics? I do not have F3....
-
Not a video gamer myself, but there's so much amazing modeling based on Fallout, I started looking into it.
(Couldn't get pics to show up, here's a link)

Ah, OK... yellowish.... may try that, too :D
-
Human skin colour. And some headswaps of human and zombie heads.
That is actually a GREAT idea. I did not notice it in my first sweep down the page, but with all thes plastics, a bit of headswapping is actually all you need for geat variations of minis 8)
-
When I first read the title, I thought you had come up with a new 'Flintloque' style game!!! lol
-
Grey or pale sickly yellowish. That's how I think of post-atomic mutants.
Although my mind may have been poisoned by the Buck Rogers TV series from the 70's. o_o
-
Neon Green!! ;D
Try blue for a change.
-
I have the same plans for the orks that I have unintentionally amassed over the years. I don't play 40k but would like to use them as mutants and am constantly looking for interesting color schemes that make them look not so much like GW cartoon characters.
I found this following link helpful. Lots of nice pics. :D

Can I change my vote to albino? :o
Not sure if someone already suggested this, but bobbing the ears a bit will greatly reduce their orcish appearance.
-
I agree, albino with slightly sanded down ears. :)
-
I like those albino-orks, too. A bit 'The Descent'-ish. Makes me want to paint some ghouls that way, actually 8)
I am not QUITE convinced that I can keep up the interest for painting a whole gang the same colours, but we'll see - luckily NR has the possibility af very small gangs ;)
Btw, I am going to incorporate the use of magnets to hold drivers and gunners in place on the vehicles, so that I can remove them when shot. A rare earth magnet under (or in, if not possible, like on the Wartrak) each seat, and one under each point where a gunners feet will be - then one in the butt of each sitting driver/gunner, and one in each foot of the standing gunner (and possibly also some where the hands meet the gun), and Voilá! :)
-
That would be really cool. :)
