Title: Lovecraftian conversions?
Post by: B. Basiliscus on June 09, 2010, 04:09:04 AM

With enough imagination, talent, and green stuff, you could probably unleash the whole Mythos with just a few simple edits.

Anyone have suggestions for minis that could be converted to the starspawned blasphemies we all know and love?

This Reaper demon looks like it'd make a rad Shambler:

Just saw off that long jaw, replace it with tri-mandibled mouth parts, give him some fur patches and you could have a sick dimensional horror for low level D&D campaigns (or maybe some pulp TCOC game if that's what floats your boat...)

Post your conversion ideas so we can steal be inspired by them!

Sick (in the nice way) paintjob too.

it's more sculpt than conversion but should fit the theme :)

Wow! :o

My players would lose SAN if I put that out on the table onto the map-board!

I remember seeing that, but it's certainly worth subsequent looks!! LOVE IT!

Also, that Reaper fig is damn good.  That's the thing about reaper, they've got great little treasures hidden until piles of generic crap.

It's been years since I've seen pictures of that thing. Always loved it. Even more so, thanks for all the angles of it.

I'd be afraid to even touch that, let alone transport.  How many tentacles have you lost over the years?  Love the glossy paintjob.

none - it was used only a single time for gaming... :'(
we had some problems in making out playable rules for independent "characters" like the worm :(

Isn't it odd how they have all that stuff buried down and almost no one takes the time to search for it?  :?

This Monsterpocalypse creature, Krakenoctus, could make a great Mythos-y monster for wargames and stuff with some greenstuff tentacles added to his face and a repaint.

Or, you could skip the green stuff tentacles.
I know I would.

Ultraman has some of the weirdest and wackiest creatures I've ever seen and an insane amount of toy deals on just about all of them.

No doubt with some editing, you could amass an army of cheasy but effective non-canonical Old Ones.
And there's so much variety!

Yes it is! That's why I take the time to go through their on line store every couple of months. They do all sorts of things.

Have seen Ultraman in I don't know how long. I had an Ultraman board game a friend shipped over from Japan. It had all the different Ultraman incarnations and many of the monsters a plastic playing pieces. Sadly I lost it years ago.

I've been looking at Reaper for the last few weeks and trying to decide which thing to get!

I ended up going for a RAFM monster... but I'll be keeping an eye out for the well of doom I think.

I think these have some promise:

One of the heads looks like an angler fish :)

That black one is awesome.
Sorry I have nothing to contribute but that is gorgeus.
