I've been putting notes together for a set of skirmish rules based on 60's spy novels and movies. The rules are going to cover small scale skirmish settings (1-10 models per side). I'll admit to there not being a lot new to do with basic skirmish rules and there are several sets out that can accommodate spy action if properly modified. However I am working on some rules for Intelligence/Counter-Intelligence that would add a new twist and give the game more of a spy feel.
Is there an audience for the game? I'm nearing a point where I would take on playtesters. I do plan on finishing and releasing these rules. I wrote a set of rules for Rattrap, so I am capable of finishing what I start but it would be cool to know if there was any real interest.

Sounds interesting.
Do you want to base it on the 45er rules?
I like all kind of Small Skirmish, and your idea sounds to be something "fresh".
You can count me in ;)

You already know I'm in...

This will not be based on the .45 Adventure games. I'm looking to create a new system

count me in ,only thing that stopped me getting in to gaming the genre more was the lack of good rules that cover the period properly

I would like to try your spy-fi rules! My secret agents from Copplestone are dying to fight sharks with laser cannons, evil geniuses with bald heads and harpoon armed bikini babes on tropical islands! 8)

I would be interested as well. Adding intelligence/counter-intelligence to the game mechanics sounds like an excellent idea for the genre. It always has seemed a shame that there were no specific rules for the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang model range(s).

I would also be interested. I'm just about to start building a table for KKBB games (and spent the past weekend planning/plotting. Muhaahaahaaa... >:D).
I have ideas for modifying an existing ruleset but would be interested in a bespoke set for this and other games.

I have a mound of unpainted KKBB (all the Artizan ones!) I picked up at charity shop!
A rules set would inspire me to paint them!

I'd love to find a stack of KKBB figures in a charity shop...

Marc,
Count me as definitely intersted in some spy rules. I've tried adapting a few pulp sets myself, but there always seems to be something missing. I think I've narrowed it down to the investigation aspect and clue gathering leading to a climax, and the reliance on small 1-2 figure teams for spy games (Bond + femme fatale, Avengers, Man from Uncle). Most of the skirmish pulp sets seem to focus on larger groups (if you include the grunts/red shirts) and clue mechanisms are typically for a goal in the present scene, not a connected campaign.
For me, the perfect spy game is played out over several scenes/games typically bouncing between exotic locations (think Bond movie). Each scene has the opportunity for action and clue gathering and when you gather enough clues it leads to the climax. With multiple groups I've usually had to use some hand-waving to justify all the factions' presence for the end-game (other groups tail the clue leader or something). If the linked clue/investigation mechanism can be accomplished cleanly in a skirmish game I think you'll have a good base mechanism for spy romps and detective stories.

Pure luck - saw a book I fancied in the window and went in, saw the figs in a box at a £1 a pack - needless to say I didn't buy the book! ;)
