Nice.  One of my favourite lines, too (D&RGW).

Your painting and weathering is just unbelievable.  I wish I had your talent and the space to do trains for games.  I already have consumed on room of the house for utter nerdery.  If I started this I'm afraid my wife wouldn't be pleased.

Outstanding. Just missing a Not-Ernest-Borgnine as a guard. ;)

Wonderful colouration on the yellow trucks  :-*  :-*

Out of curiosity (as I really have no idea) Are they commercial, scratch or a mix of both?

cheers

These are commercial models, simply weathered a bit (Bachmann Spectrum 0n30 gauge - 1/48 models, made in China)

Hi,

Michi - love the weathering - The reefers really look the business and the C&D ventilated box car hits the spot.

Doomsdave - I know what you mean about storage. My railroad scenery is built on lengths of mounting board about 2'/600mm long; makes them easy to store and I can use them in a number of combinations. Heres some pics of my scenery (the tank car is similar to Michi's to give you an idea of scale).

These are new ones. The observation car and combine will make two ends of another train, hence I have two passenger trains of 5 cars each now. Plus 4 engines in total sums up to four trains!

Awsome work, truely awesome  :-* :-* :-*

Can you point me in the direction of  where to get the Bachmann Spectrum 0n30 gauge - 1/48 models.  Also, does anyone know where to get the right gauge of track for them???

Great work! ;D

Some time has passed since I started this thread, but I find it more appropriate to reply on it than starting a new one. Originally intended to use this train for a WW1 Chinese theatre of this years LPL itīs still of American origin after all although the engine is heavily converted:

Believe me, it was much harder to find an angle to shoot the entire composition for the LPL entry than painting it...

I did model railways for ten years and I found weathering and modifying rolling stock one of the most enjoyable parts if the hobby.  You really have some skill weathering your models  :D

That is a fantastic railway engine and rolling stock.  The weathering is first class. Also I loved your Round 10 entry in the LPL.
