Title: A newbie offering...

If someone can tell me how to upload pics, I'll pop a couple of images of my figures up to show my style.

Okay - I worked it out

Here's a sample pic showing my brushwork - a few Copplestone-sculpted conquistadors from Foundry.

I think I tend to leave a bit more black undercoat showing than most people, I tend to mix my own shades (for subtlety), and I prefer shadowy slits for eyes, rather than oversized eyeballs! (Just think it looks slightly more lifelike from a distance...)

Apart from that, I think you'll recognise the technique which is pretty much the same as most people use these days.

I agree. That's how I do it to.

Captain, what you say is right. You leave more deep, black parts on the figures than most other people do. But this isn't a problem, that's just your style of painting. And if you prefer it that way you shouldn't change it, no matter what other people may say.

I thank you all for your kind comments. I shall endeavour not to disappoint with future pics!

I wonder if anyone can help me with a spot of info? Just missed these beauties on eBay... They were listed vaguely as 'Artizan? Dixons?' - and I am sure as I can be that they are neither... They are though, a fine looking bevy of lady swashbucklers, and I would love to get my hands on a set!

(The quality obviously shines through, as they sold for over 12.00 GBP including postage, and I doubt they cost this much brand new!)

Anyone recognise them???    All information gratefully received...

Plynkes. Thank you very much indeed for the speedy response. Now that's what I call the inside track... I must order some straight away!

I don't suppose you (or anyone?) happens to know whether this Brigade Games range is only available direct from the USA, or whether there is a UK or European distributor? (North Star in the UK seem to carry some of the Brigade ranges - but not this one... Or at least, not in full)

Thanks again.

It's a pity North Star don't seem to carry the entire Brigade range, I agree.

I don't know of anyone else, I'm afraid. What I tend to do is get what I can from North Star, and for the rest go direct to Brigade. They're pretty good at getting stuff back here to Blighty.

As for the inside track, we Lead Adventurers are lucky in that we have the "Gloire" author numbered among us, and he does tend to keep us up to date with the latest swashbuckling releases. He probably has uncounted hordes of little cringing minions tracking them down for us.

Captain Blood, North star do carry these figures, however they come as part of a deal including the initial release of 15 figures for £25.

Just go to the 'Brigade games' list on the North star shop and they are there at the bottom.  :)
