Title: Photos from Prague Army Museum - WW1
Post by: Adam on June 24, 2010, 09:11:36 AM
I'll be posting the RCW-related photos in the Back of Beyond forum.

Apologies for the poor quality of some of the pics. The sunlight reflecting off of the cabinet glass, and my poor photography skills, mean that they are not as good as they could have been. There is also a hell of a lot more stuff in the museum than I took pictures of (wish I'd took a lot more), and its well worth a visit.

WW1 Western Fronts:

As I remember (it was a good 6 or so months ago) most of these uniforms belonged to Czech soldiers who served in other nations armies, either in Czech units or as individuals.

WW1 Eastern Front (Czechs in Russian Service):

A bread bag of a Czech soldier who embroided it with the names of all of the campaigns he fought in. And my forehead.

The top photo is of a couple of Czechs who infiltrated the Austrian lines wearing enemy uniforms.

Other stuff:

Souvenir fan from the beginning of the war.

Lots of hats:

Thanks for putting all that together, must have taken a while!

Who are the chaps with the feather in their hats?

That's a pretty spiffing uniform!

"Who are the chaps with the feather in their hats?"

I believe that those are Alpini or Italian Alpine troops. The feather was to come from a raven.
