Title: Some miniatures for Strange Aeons (updated)
Post by: einarolafson on July 05, 2010, 10:03:55 PM: I´m new in the forum. These are my first miniatures for the game "Strange Aeons". I´m painting things but I have no idea how to play because I haven't receievd my rule books yet. I think a blasphemous creature may have eaten it somewhere in the Atlantic between Canada and Wales.

Post by: Malebolgia on July 05, 2010, 10:14:00 PM: Great painting! Love the Hastur/Yellow King Cultist. The creature is superb...never seen this sculpt before. Fits the Mythos very well and your painjob is very, very nice 8)

It is an servitor of the Outer Gods from Dunwich Detectives sold by Em4 miniatures. There are three diferent models. Currently I´m painting two more of them. I like very much these miniatures because they seem insane and represent the idea of a being that frantically plays an instrument in eternal worship.

I´m building an Hastur/King in Yellow cult. I want to include some corrupt policemen too in the group.

This time I have painted a Black Cat Bases Deep One. I need my Strange Aeons rule set and the expansion, but they have definitely got lost in the dark...

It is amazing what a good (or bad) photo can do to someone's impression of a mini.

Lovely figures there my friend, those Blackcat deepones are very special indeed. I love your black freckle work, really gives the minis a depth.

Looking forward to more pics soon. If you like deepones, you should take a look at Manic Miners new ones sculpted by Paul Muller and the deepone set over at Fenris games, both sets are lovely and add to the eldritch horror that dwells under the sea, (and no I'm not talking about the little mermaid songbook! ;)).

Mine is also definately lost in some warp so I ordered another set from Germany. If I ever get the first set I can sell it to friend :)

Sure!! For the servitor I have used Army painter flesh color and vallejo Game colors.

Then I paint the darker areas with tan 66, eyes with khaki 61.

A wash with red 86 and brown 92.

After this I highlight the clear areas of flesh with dwarf skin 41, elf skintone 4, bonewhite 34; and the dark areas of flesh with tan 66, dwarf skin 41, elf skintone 4.

The brown spots are model color german cam. black brown 822 and then game color charred brown 45.

Eyes are highlight with bonewhite 34 and off white 101, a red ink wash for the red around the eyes.

Tomorrow I will post the colors for the Deep one. I like the Black Cat Deep Ones a lot, I bought only one to compare the size with the human miniatures I have. I don´t know the size of Uncle Mike's Fishmen but I think they can match with Black Cat´s.

Really love the spots on the Deep One as well, really adds a lot of character to the sculpt :)

i had nine painted up and THEN i saw these and ordered 21 more..

Time goes by more slowly in Great Hall of Celaeno. I will fix that... soon ;)
