Title: Latest Dice received
Post by: myincubliss on July 18, 2010, 05:46:44 PM
Nipped into the FLGS today and ended up picking up some of these:

very, very pretty - they also come in a glow in the dark set, but I couldn't justify spending twenty quid for that...

Yep, I saw the glow in the dark dice the other day. Let's face it: when do you turn of the light during a gaming session? Not at all... Only when the music's over....

Take a gander at the two vids below and they may just make you cry for all those cool looking dice you bought in the past.  It made me :'(

What interesting videos.

It is something I knew a little about but not THAT much, the ins and outs of the cheaper dice and the actual manufacturing process.

I've often been tempted to buy casino dice, even cheap, used or rejected ones for that reason, they do tend to be rather large for the average tabletop game though.

Some companies do sell dice with unpainted numbers, basicly that haven't gone through that tumbling process which destroys the edges.

The saddest thing I always seem to run into is that most really nice high quality dice, or dice made of unusual materials (semi precious stones etc) tend to only be sold in standard poly sets. I don't care about those sets, I'd rather have a half dozen d6s or d10s myself.

Just received a big bunch of polydice for Mayhem, from EM4 and DiceShopOnline. :D All different colours for (hopefully) easy recognition; D4s with numbers at the top; D6s with numbers, full stop; D10s with actual '10's' on 'em... mervellus.

Needed to take a pic of some Ulfsark Games Dragon Scale Dice. They have a KS for their Taiyo Dynasties anthro resin miniature skirmish game right now.
