I just finished this bug hole. Tried for something a little more novel... based on the part in the movie where the tanker breaks through the surface. This was a trial run, I have a spare tanker head for the next one...

Very nice, quite creepy with the leg poking through.
-
Looks like a good way to use up spare legs....
So how did you do the cracked groundwork ?
-
It's very cool. Very atmospheric, and probably more evocative than the ol' Rabbit Hole effect.
I also think it's very telling that everyone here wants to know how you did it! :)

Thanks everyone, glad it is a hit :) I am about half way done my second one, as well as a quick little well-illustrated article on exactly how I did it! Stay tuned!
Thanks again,
