Title: Banditos - small conversion work with foundry
Post by: nervisfr on July 27, 2010, 06:54:59 AM
Not happy with the banditos available on the marketplace in 28mm. Even the excellent and numerous old west range from Foundry has nothing about this. Only Artizan has some references...but the poses are not very fun.
My references for this job, are "The magnificient seven", "The professionnals" and "Bandolero" movies.
So I choose to make mine based on the foundry range. I pick the poses i think interesting and get on the workbench

base 1 :

and base 2 :

the result :

the sombreros are always made with the metal steel (see the topic with my peons http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=10620.0 (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=10620.0) )
the colt of ex "cherokee bill" is a Museum Miniatures.

hope to be useful to some one

Wow!

Thatīs really nice work.  :o

Please tell us about that gun from Museum Miniatures. I would need some of those but Museum Miniatures webpage is really weird. I can only find some Samuari in 28mm.

The left hand figure in particular is fantastic - looks better than the original!

Must look at your hat making thread....

Yes it's a shame BS figure poses are a little stiff.  I also hate the fact they use shotguns so much!  My apaches have three or four in two sets!

I have always wondered HOW big they are. Anyone have any comparison pics with Foundry/Artizan?

just see the rider show as sample and the horse. We could think they are statues in a mexican village !

a new base :

and the finished released :

Without great conversion except the pancho rolled over the shoulder and the musket added to the free hand. A "mexican" paint work and that is as simple than this !

And you can do this for every figurines from the range you feel to be converted into a bandidos.
