It's very early yet, but here is the website for PULP MONSTERS, a Superhero game coming soon.
http://www.pulpmonsters.com/
The only minis so far is Guerilla....a chaingun toting Simian....

Looks very cool to me.

Not really into a real superhero setting myself. But this looks mighty promising!
Really looking forward to see if they can fill up this cool looking site with equally fitting mini's.

it's big!
it's purple!
and it's simian!
it's Grape Ape!!!! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grape_Ape)
actually i first though Magilla Gorilla, but then i saw the purple tint to the flesh. turns the Saturday morning cartoons in my memory on their heads.

The Pulp City (the name of the game - Pulp Monsters is now the company name) range has grown since those early posts. There are over 30 miniatures including henchmen (known as Minions in the game), with more minis (usually 4 per release) every two months.
The game is gearing up for a published rulebook soon, but in the meantime the rules are downloadable through the website:

The game mixes elements of spandex superheroics, post-modern pulp (naturally), sci-fi, horror and a lot more into a late 80's setting. the basic mechanics are nice and simple and it is in the individual actions and synergies that the game comes to life. Lots of fun, and some gorgeous minis to boot. Only a small handful of models is needed to get into playing, and a small playing area will suffice (2 x 3 feet was enough for my first games).

Rather reminiscent of Monsieur Mallah (the ape member of the Brotherhood of Evil with the hysterical French accent in the old Doom Patrol comics...).

To be honest, ever since the 50's/60's when comic book publishers recognised the sales bump gained by putting an ape on the cover, we have seen a plethora of ape and ape-like characters:
- Monsieur Mallah
- Gorilla Grodd (and Solovar)
- the white-ape version of the Ultra Humanite
- Congorilla
- Gorilla Man
and many more besides.

Monkeys and Apes make everything better. Kind of like bacon.
-
Whilst there are plenty of monkeys and apes in Pulp City (6 models at present, more to come), banded under the faction of the ARC (Ape Revolution Committee), there is plenty more to the game. They (ARC) straddle the line between hero and villain and are well worth a look.

That advice has been given out here before, and like a fool I followed it; providing copious amounts of bacon sandwiches to sustain myself and my fellow pilgrims on the Hajj. To my surprise and annoyance it didn't make everything better. Quite the reverse, in fact. And let's not even get into the behavior of my troupe of baboons while we were circumambulating the Kaaba.
Let's just say I don't think I'm exactly Mr. Popular in Mecca right now, and won't be for a while.

As I grew up reading Iron Age Marvel comics, a proliferation of Super-Apes actually disinclines me to take part in a setting. That said the figures are really nice and the system looks interesting.

...Iron Age?

...Iron Age?
Sometimes used for the post-mid 80's (Watchman, Ronin, Dark Knight Returns) era. I think.

It is perfectly possible to play using no apes. :)

Possible, but why would you want to? :)

Ah, I've always heard that called the Dark Age.

Hat Guy, meet wellender; wellender, meet Hat Guy....
;D

Ah, I've always heard that called the Dark Age.
Also sometimes called Bronze Age; there isn't really a clear consensus.

My comic shelf is filled with Ultimate Marvel, Frank Miller Batman, The Punisher and Alan Moore.
...what can I say? I like depressing realism with my superheroes.
...that said, a Next Wave Super System team may be on the horizon.

[shameless plug]I have to admit to becoming a big fan of the Pulp City game and its minis. So much so that I have started a blog (Pulp Citizen (http://pulp-citizen.blogspot.com/) - click for link). feel free to take a look.[/shameless plug]
:)

Nothing beats a big ape with a big gun right?

If you do that, I beg you to post pictures (I've been kicking the idea around for a while now, but gotten a bit stumped on minis - there's a heroclix multiple man in a nice jacket that would work, plus the unique machine man that was sculpted for a heroclix tournament, but beyond that I pretty much struck out...)
-
Machine Man (call him Aaron) is about the hardest one in the set to get right. Fortunately as miniature sculptors tend not to have great taste in clothing, there is a proliferation of figures in trench coats out there that may be suitable as well as a girl in a short skirt for Tabby.

What about a monkey ronin?
-
A very nifty looking game and system. One of the sculptors has occasionally done work for Black Army. My only objection is that the game has absolutely nothing to do with "Pulp", and is another case of the gaming industry using a word well past its meaning... but still..
...gotta love them monkeys...

What about a monkey ronin?
Or a mad bomber urangutan?
