Title: Mid war scenery
Post by: Old Goat on September 01, 2010, 09:58:57 AM
Dear folks,

A quick question, part of the seduction of gaming the period was the beautifully rendered village on the Great War Miniatures website.  The trenches are no real problem, poly filla, lashings of green stuff sandbags, homemade barbed wire and coffee stirrer duck boards, few coats of paint and you've got something servicable as Passchendaele in a few days...

Early days, war of movement, no problem and any amount of stuff out there to recreate pretty much anything you want to...

Now I've spent quite a while mooching around various terrain sites and some DIY sites too and have yet to really come across anything that comes even close to what I'm after without re-mortgaging my gaff and buying Grand Manner kit, which is lovely but can I justify spending a months shopping on three or four buildings.

Any advice please on what or who has worked for you?

Best, Old Goat.

There is a range of destroyed building made by Conflix. I have some and they work well with 28mm buildings even though they are nominally for 1/72. Destroyed buildings are easier to fudge scale wise anyway. They are quite reasonable price wise and are nicely prepainted so they probably fit well with your needs.
