East germans :D
guns from the assault group, (AK-74 and PK machinegun)
the medic has an old chieftain IDF stretcher and a bolt-action soviet head
the officer (commissar maybe) has a soviet advisor head from anglian /empress

very nice conversions they look like special Forces ( Grenzschutz?)
any plans to do some conversions with those silly NVA Helmets? ;D
-
Nice, the weapons look like good fits too.
I'm looking forward to seeing these painted up. :)
-
Grenzschuts is what i was looking at when i made them :D
(the only NVA i found without silly helmets)
i might make some more SF-looking fellows later, but i'm trying to figure out what sort of equipment they had (backpacks, breadbags etc, dunno if they had germanww2 looking stuff (the czechoslovakian had iirc)
I'll use regular mongrel minis for helmeted fellows, might make a few headswaps tho :)
-
Great conversions :D , Now after seeing the TAG weapons in use I will have to get them for my REDSTAR Russians I've been on the fence about the TAG size questions answered on to the chopping.
Really like these keep up the good work.

:)
i'd stay away from the ak-47's tho, they're a bit big..
ak-74 variants are all ok tho, and tbh, any major kalashnikov-user has the 74 now, and probably has for the last 20 years.. :D
-
love them, and i'm really happy to see that those germans (that deluded me a bit) now are starting to be used for great conversion, and to enlarge the minis panorama!
-
Now that's clever!
I'd been thinking about the conversion potential of the Bolt Action figures. I was thinking along the lines of Algerian ALN but Grenzschutz is pure genius. They might work as KdA as well. There's something about fielding troops with the name Combat Group of the Working Class that's frankly irresistable.
It's a one off but Eureka does a 'Sgt Steiner figure' in field cap, smock and PPSH which you could probably use as an extra figure.
Now I have all these T-55 s I must find more uses and the idea of a building of the Berlin Wall goes hot scenario appeals immensely.
