Apologies if you've already seen them on frothers :P

Excellent painting and colour choices! :-*

Apologies if you've already seen them on frothers :P
What is frothers? ???
;)
Seriously though, those are some really nicely painted minis. :-*
I think if I was to ever get into 28mm Sci Fi, I'd be all over Infinity. Their minis are just way, way cool.
-
Excellent !...great camo - looks really effective and realistic.

Excellent !...great camo - looks really effective and realistic.
Woah, coming from you that is a compliment indeed, thanks :D
-
Beautiful! I've always loved the Infiniy minis, but I'm just not brave enough to attempt to paint them. You've done a lovely job here, though!
-
I'm a big fan of your very muted and very understated style.
-
Beautiful... i'll have to take a better look into these minis...
-
the brown is nice but, with the bases, a bit too muted for my tastes...but the grey i simply love.
-
amazing paint jobs - the muted colours really look great on the nomads
-
Love the paintwork dude, especially on the Haqqislam figs. I get the color balance on the photos may not be doing the colour choices favors in the photos.
Look forward to seein more. :)
-
I really like the mute colours! Great job, Hubba :)
-
Update.
Drop troops, TigerSoldiers from YuJing.
The leader of the force, Sgt KoDali.
And together with two troopers.

Lovely figures but stunning paint jobs.

Beautiful paint jobs...love the colour palette. Can't wait to see more.
-
Interesting and nicely executed colour scheme. A chance to see one of Infinity's "spider tank" anytime soon? I've yet not seen many of them painted up on the internet.
-
Absolutely beautifully painted! wow
Duncan
-
love it!
-
Skin tones are fantastic!

Sorry, no plans for the HaqIslam T.A.G. as yet.
Thanks for the comments

Added a T.A.G. and some assault commandoes to the Nomads.

Nice and subtle painting,great :D
-
Excellent work indeed! :o I've always found the Infinity stuff intimidating painting-wise after seeing all the elaborate color schemes over at the Infinity forums. Your stuff however, is similar to how I paint sci-fi and it looks GREAT on the Infinity stuff. I may have to drag some of my stuff out of storage and give it a whirl. Thanks for the inspiration!

-
Sorry, if it has been asked before, but do you make use of an airbrush? You've handled these clean designs and smooth surfaces with great perfection, so I have to ask in order to know, if it's possible for low-tech painters like me, too.
-
Hi, Thanks for the feedback
I do use an airbrush, but mainly for base coats on larger minis, however, I didn't use it on any of these minis,
They were primed grey, given a black wash, then dry brushed grey. After that the colours and tones are just built up gradually with really diluted paints. Don't expect to get decent coverage on the first coat, you at least two or three depending on the colour, but it's from using the thin coats that the end result appears smoother. be carful to keep the dry brusk ight, or else you'll build up texture that will later show through the coats.
I first gave all this a try after some chap called Dave wrote about in on frothers.
I'm still in two minds as to whether or not it speeds the process up, but as the infinity minis have a lot of detail on them, it's a good method for picking it out.
-
Bloody hell you just keep churning these out! Wow, really great work and I might have to give that technique a shot too - do you have a link to the original?
Duncan

Thanks! And yes I do believe he is too.
Duncan
-
Very nice :)
-
I'm not a fan of this style of uber-slender cartoony figures in dancing poses - not even for sci-fi; although those latest assault commandos are very cool.
But your paintwork on all of them is absolutely lovely :)
-
Bit of a quicky on this one, but quite happy with it none the less
(http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m188/son_of_stephen/NinjaSniper.jpg)
-
white seems a bit too much on the visor in my opinion
-
Very nice! I could see someone using that sniper for a Fallout 3-type project perhaps.
-
Up date, more for the YuJing faction
Top to bottom, left to right: Gilang, (sniper infiltrator,) mech engineer, Hsien - optional lieutenant (powered armour), and three Shaolin monks.

An Interventor hacker, (that's a SciFi Wizard that is ::))
And these two who are Zoe and Piwell. She's supposed to be an engineer but she looks more like a hooker looking for business on a corner if you ask me.
-
Freakin' nice, as always.
Your painting style just adds life to those sculpts. Just love it.
-
While I personally dislike such a bland color scheme, I must applaud to the paintjobs there. :D
In other news, Zoe is dual-classed as engineer/hooker so that explains that. ;D
-
sorry to be so late but those are lovely :)
-
Really nice work there mate, I love the models, have been a fan for so long, its a shame about the price I must admit, but you have done some lovely models superb justice with a brilliant paintjob. Keep them coming I watch this thread with excitement.
Steve
-
Vary nice painting all around and As for Zoe well, she is a merc, and what do they say about the worlds two oldest professions.... ;D
-
Update, the evil empire of YuJing send more special ops into the zone, power armour to crush all resistance :D
(http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m188/son_of_stephen/Heavies.jpg)And sneaky stealth units that pack a punch lol
(http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m188/son_of_stephen/hvystealth.jpg)
-
Nice, nice, nice - very cool-looking. I keep trying not to look into Infinity too much, as I have a feeling I'll fall for it.
Speaking of which, I think my favourite of the bunch is the hooker - sorry, Engineer - and her little robot friend. Very nice minis, and lovely painting.
-
very nice indeed, love the Glowing Eyes of the Stealth Team :-*
-
I was half yes/half no with these minis but you've made them WAYYY more on the YES side now
-
(http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m188/son_of_stephen/ScatterScenery018.jpg)
-
wow.
you are great on painting, i really love your stuff.
what about the bases? are them normal gw bases?
if so the infiniti minis are smaller than i thought!
-
Hubba Bubba,
Your work is most inspirational, and I love coming back to this thread from time to time just to drool. ;D ;D ;D
Please tell me what colors you used on the ninja assassin fellow with the sniper rifle and the face mask. I would like to try to reproduce this look.
Many thanks, and please keep the inspiration coming. :D
-
Have somehow missed this thread up til now and boy have I missed something! 8)
Wonderful painting. My favourite just has to be Zoe but the others are all really, really good as well. :-*
How do sizes compare to Hasslefree?
-
They are a little taller than Hasslefree, but I use mine along with them and Antenociti's models with no problems. I also use a few of the better proportioned Citadel and some Copplestone. But I think they all work reasonably well together as long as you leave the overly bulky Citadel and Copplestone out.
Duncan
-
Ah, thanks. That's most useful. I am not worried about a little extra height as most of my HF are female and I like my males to be a tad taller.
-
Those are beautiful. I really need to try those colors. I love desert themed minis.
-
Ah, thanks. That's most useful. I am not worried about a little extra height as most of my HF are female and I like my males to be a tad taller.
Glad to be of help. If I can get my arse in gear then you might see the mixture in some of my LPL entries, though I really need to work out if I can commit to it before I attempt it.

Please tell me what colors you used on the ninja assassin fellow with the sniper rifle and the face mask. I would like to try to reproduce this look.
The suit is VMC black with VMC german uniform added progressively, then German uniform + VMC ivory.
The visor is VMC english uniform + VMC ivory
Size comp shot with Hasslefree Grant and a Grenadier Future wars trooper (EM4/Mirlington)
You should note that there's quite a bit of size variation within some of the infinity range, as a general rule, the older figs are a tad taller, and in some cases a bit chunkier. The lass pictured is from the Ghullums releaed last year.
On the whole, they are great minis, the newer ones particularlly are real quality scuplts and castings are generally of a very high standard.
-
I just love those earthy tones. You really are inspiring Hubba!

Any chance of a close up of the cammo on the EM4 figure to see how it's composed? It is outstanding.

Aww, you got me blushing :D
Any chance of a close up of the cammo on the EM4 figure to see how it's composed? It is outstanding.
Believe me, it's not that pretty close up, it's just random shapes. I'll see if I can get a decent close up this evening or tomorrow and hunt down the colour references.

That latest shot is awesome. So difficult to choose a favourite.... that one.... no, that one..... erm, that one.... [brain overloads and head explodes]
German Cammo Beige is one of my 'go to' colours - so many uses. As previously mentioned, I was pondering a camo scheme on my marines but after watching a few minutes of Miami Swat I'm now inclined towards their colour scheme, which looks much like what you have here. 8) 8) 8)

really love that last group :D

Thanks for the feedback so far

Nice, consistent scheme, clean without being 'shoot me first!' bright. Very well done.
-
discoverd this thread today - really kewl!
I especially like, that the colour scheme is more realistic than the studio-version. They look like soldiers who really mean it. Maybe I will try to copy that, but not sure ... cause I usually more the bonbon-colour-type - and have some plany with my own Infis.
And I like to know where this "powder-like" appearance comes from. Brushing at the end with an oh ever so slightly a bonecolour?
However - the really look amazing! Even up close. Brilliant work!!
best wishes

Outstanding painting, but on behalf of the forum moderating team, I would really appreciate it if you could avoid using "Jap" as it is quite an offensive slur (and amend the title accordingly). I don't think that you intended to offend, but still.

Fair dues, my apologies to anyone who was offended.

Miyamoto, ronin type chap.
Still needs to be varnished, any suggestions before I do so?
-
One suggestion
Paint loads more of these top quality figures...your style is superb and the subtle use of realistic colour works a treat.
I love the contrast of his robe with futuristic armour and the green power lights look top notch
His facial expression just oozes cool determination
Bravo
-
yeah, this is a top quality job, and the monochromatic tones are becoming better and better
the only thing is the freehand on the kimono: really nice, but not japanese at all! :-\

Only just caught onto this thread.
Amazing work. I love the subtle pj's that you have pulled off brilliantly.
I thought this range looked good, but now you make me want some.

I have nothing to add except: wow!

Lovely! :o your painting is getting better and better!
-
An exceptional body of work here, with a distinct and brilliantly executed look.
More please :)

That is stonking :-* :-*
-
I've been following the posts avidly and love the very, subtle colour scheme. I missed the recent updates while on holiday(that robot on page five is superb - as are the following figures) - what colours are you using for the 'white' armour?
-
Hi.
The white is VMC biege, worked up to VMC ivory.
Thanks for all the feed back.

Lovely miniatures!
-
wow, again ;)
-
Amazing and how long do 'quickies' take you?
-
They took about 8 hours for the group, not including clean up and undercoating, more or less. I did them over a week and a half but probably put in about three evenings on them, which for me is quick. As in I didn't faff around on them redoing shadows and highlights or get carried away with the faces.
Added these for the nomads. :D

Wow, nice figs. ;D
very crisp PJ.
what scale are the bases (like to see these among my 15mm NAC troops :D)
-
@ Hubbabubba:
Looking very sharp! Do you have any more Securitate planned?
@ zizi666:
Those are 40mm bases. ;)
Also, check out the other Nomad Remotes (Meteor, Tsyklon, Sputnik, Lunokhod, etc), I think you might like them!
-
@ Major
I'd love some more, but I'll have to convert them and it's not very high on my list of priorities. I have whats left of the one that comes in the starter, but I never liked the pose, and she's currently headless as I used her head on my Alguacil HMG. They make good lieutenants for a change from the usual.
-
Incoming.
Haq reinforcements. Working my way to 300 points worth.
That spider tank may well make an appearance in the end.
First up, elite Djans. BioGene altered super soldiers (whatever that means)
Next, Muttawiah, think zealous suicide bombers but with EM field generaters instead of bombs.
And finally a sneaky hacker, (guys only got three fingers on each hand, maybe been caught stealin')
-
Again, very crisp PJ's but I really like the markings on the bases.
very well-executed.
-
Wow dose are great. I really like the skintones and the all out dirty, dusty fealing.
-
Fantastic painting, choice of colors is great and having added the detail to the side of the base is not only very cool but also practical. :o :-*
-

I don't think I could put it better myself!! Great work again!!
-
Lovely work. I think the Haqqi-Islam minis are my favaourites of their range and they look really good with your paint jobs on.
Duncan
-
Cracking work,as usual :-* :-* :-* You make my Infinity minis look very second rate ::)
-
excellent work on these, H - love the muted schemes. Every time i check this thread I take my Infinity out of the drawer (then put them back again! Someday...)
-
ah Dwartist, it's funny but seeing your sedition wars and hasslefree troopers has a similar effect on me. lol
I'd love to see you paint some infinity, you'd do them more than proud.
-
Thumbs up!
Damn, maybe I should take a second look at that box of Haqqis I got as a present years ago?
It's a pity that noone plays the game though :(
-
Lovely mate, +1 on the base markings, really special.
-
Between these Infinity examples and DWArtist's Hasslefree minis, I just want to cry and snap my paintbrushes in two! Wonderful, wonderful painting.
I find it especially challenging to paint this style of sculpt, where the folds are not deeply exaggerated. I find Copplestone, Foundry, and GW easier to paint because of that style.
I'm trying really hard with the Hasslefrees and this thread makes me want to go get some Infinity minis and try to really "get" that way of thinking and painting.
If I'm not making sense, what I mean is this: with the deeper recessed minis it is easier for me to get an edge dry-brushed on a strap or a fold of cloth. If you look on the woman at the bottom here (http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m188/son_of_stephen/nomadmonatge.jpg) you'll see on her right upper leg what looks like some splendid edge-highlighting on those bands running around her thigh.
Similarly, top-middle and down one, there's a woman mini with nice highlighting on her torso and incredible highlighting on her thighs.
I just don't know how to make that on the finely sculpted minis. That the details are not so raised as, say, Copplestone minis, makes it harder for me. There's got to be a technique to it and not figuring it out is driving me crazy!
But again, GREAT job on these!
-
Beautiful painting! Those more subdued tones are gorgeous (and quit the challenge to get right)!
ErikB, I think the technique is a matter of control, smooth painting and cleanup... It seems to me that you have to treat parts of the miniature more like a 2D canvas than a 3D figure. Transitions are more important than edges and recesses.
I'd like to know how Hubbabubba achieves this as well...
Hubbabubba, could you perhaps tell us, or even show some WIP pics?
-
Thumbs up!
Damn, maybe I should take a second look at that box of Haqqis I got as a present years ago?
It's a pity that noone plays the game though :(
What do you mean no-one plays, lol
Admittedly, it takes some getting into, but once you grasp the basics It's really fast and very entertaining. The ARO system keeps both players occupied all through the game.
To get people into it, start off with 70 points of basic troopers to get into the game mechanic, and avoid all special abilities. after a couple of quickies like that, you can start introducing some specialist troops with a few special skills, like camo etc, but still keep the points at around 75. and then slowly build it up from there.
Too much to soon is a real turn off, as you get so bogged down with all the special rules that the game just turns into a massive ball ache, no fun at all. However, if you're willing to invest the time and effort into learning the mechanics slowly, and then little by little all the special skill/abilities that you want to use, then I personally think that as a game it's well worth the effort.
The idea of going back to an IGOYOUGO system now seems incredibly dull to me. although I'm tempted to look into Tomorrow's war and 5150 star army and new beginnings.
@Modhail & Erik B (wot no Rakhim)
Thanks for the feedback. Rgds Painting, I don't think I do anything special. I reserve drybrushing for heavily textured areas like fur, I use a layering method for just about everything else.
All paints are applied very diluted, at all stages.
First stage base coats.
Thin coats, if necessary, let dry and repeat with multiple layers to obtain opacity. It's fundamental to keep the layers thin to preserve detail, and keep a smooth layer of paint for a decent final finish.
Second stage. Shadows.
Wash with deeper colours all over the base colours.
Third stage, return base coats
Here you have to start thinking about lighting, consider how light would fall over the figure and start adding the base coats to the areas that would not be in shadow.
Fourth stage. Highlights
Add a lighter colour to the base colours (not necessarily white) still considering the direction of light and how it would fall over the figure, apply in thin coats only to the areas that would recieve light.
Find reference pics to help you consider how light effects different surfaces. i.e. a pair of fatigues reflect light in a very different way to the barrel of a rifle.
Use a brush with a decent point on it. To pick out folds and areas mentioned in your previous posts, load the brush with the desired highlight colour, then remove most of the paint with a CLEAN cloth (no fluff or fibres on the brush tip). Hold the brush at a perpendicular angle to the crease/fold/strap or whatever, and lightly move the tip along the edge you wish to high light. be prepared to repeat this action until the desired intenstity is achieved. Do not expect to obtain the highlight with the first stroke.
Patience in fundamental, I'd suggest working on two or three figs at the same time, and working across them repeating the same steps on each. Not only will you be able to repeat the steps slowly instead of going over board on the one figure, but the time in between figs allows the layers to dry an the previous figs.
Repeat with progressively lighter colours. until you get the desired level of highlights. Sometimes you'l find that an area looks fine, but after moving on to a new area and finishing that, you may need to go back to the previous area and modfy it so that they work as a whole.
Fifth stage, glazes.
Use glazes (coloured water) to modyfy any areas that require smothing out, or where you want to reduce the intensity of the highlight.
Have fun :D

The idea of going back to an IGOYOUGO system now seems incredibly dull to me. although I'm tempted to look into Tomorrow's war and 5150 star army and new beginnings.
Oh, I meant in my area ;) Although, there's at least 10 people who bought some starter boxes and all that. Shouldn't be difficult to persuade them from dropping FoW or WM/H for some casual "What? How the? I don't understand this bloody game!"-sessions ;)

AMAZING WORK :o
-
I wish I'd painted them!

Thanks for the lesson. I will try to slow sown and make it multiple thin watery layers.

Yeah, they're quite nice aren't they. They'll have to wait though, I've got a backllog of stuff on the wish list, limited free cash and increasingly limited cupboard space due to the growing lead mountain.
I feel guilty just thinking about it ;D

:o Bloody marvelous. :-*
The pose of the satisfied girl suggests she just gutted an opponent. Maybe some blood running of the knife to complete the picture ?

I really do like your style on these figures,
I have copied your notes into word and have them for a nice reference
cheers to you :D

Great group shot!
Dunno, but I always seem to associate Sci Fi stuff with khaki and green. :P

wow,gorgeous Stuff,excellent Color Choices :-*
-
Wonderful, as always. You're one of the painters on the forum whose work is always tempting me to look at another system/range of models. This thread in particular has me coming back to the Infinity forums again and again thinking to myself - "all I would need is maybe a dozen models. That's not so bad. And they're great miniatures - just look at hubbabubba's stuff. Maybe just start with the rulebook, then..." And so it goes!
Love the tones on these, the muted naturalistic colours, the overall "look" of battle-hardened troops, the consistent and perfectly handled basing. Fantastic.
[Edit] - forgot to say, the scarf on that Haq girl with the rifle is outstanding!
-
:-* Zowie ! those chicks are hot!
-
So very nice... straight out of a Masmune Shirow comic. :-*
-
very nice indeed as ever mate. You're stuff is one of those inspirations that's got me into the infinty mini ranges..I blame you! ;)
Cheers
The Commander
-
This is so great. Lovely work. :-*
-
Impressive!!! Love the painting on the walker/thinktank/whatever it is.
Can't resist a girl on a monowheel with her hindquarters in the air either ;)
-
Really lovely stuff. :-*
-
This thread is amazing. Beautiful painting and lovely miniatures. Good work sir.
-
I just scrolled through the entire thread to take it all in again.
You really have a lot of lovely stuff!
There's a lot of subdued earth tones with bits of color and detail that are truly amazing. :-*

Fabulous face painting on Moira!

:-*
Love the minis!
And your terrain ain't bad either! ;)
-
Wow, great!
The black/white/orange is a real striking kombination.
Mayby a small patch of green like some grass or turf on the base to tie in the green on the miniatures?
-
It's certainly very welcome to see Infinity minis painted in toned-down colours for a change 8)
-
Well done!
Watching your minis I still cannot believe I haven't got anything from Infinity range yet... o_o

Actually...
Hubba inspired me to buy some Yu Jing... still trying to figure out how I'm going to paint them, though.
The detailing on the minis is fantastic and requires very smooth painting and multiple light coats of paint.
This is a great thread and I've gone through it completely various times... :-*

Lovely paintjobs. Top notch stuff. :-*

I can follow you there, just finished my Haqqislam, which had been sat on my desk for two years patiently waiting for me to get the courage to put some paint on them.

My Yu Jing are sitting in their box from last month, think that they will be staying there a little while...;) Lovely new PJ's though Hubba. :-*

Beautiful, subtle brushwork, but every time I see cloaks on power armor figs I hear Edna Mode say "No Capes!"

Great table!! :o lovely subdued colours.

Wow! Really nice figs! And the terrain! Whoa, love the simplicity and minimalism, still so really cool! Good Job!
-
Hi all.
I've been having problems with time and motivation of late, but I had the day off today so I took some photos of the figs I've got painted up since my last effort.
Hope you don't mind me digging up the same old thread rather than starting a new one....
First up, Nomads:

Very nice. As I've said previously your mustards and browns are really nice. Well done!
-
Love your figures. I'd never be able to paint Infinity stuff as nice as that, they just look too lithe and finely detailed. I'd make a right mess, so I can only look on in envy at your talent. Great stuff!
-
Never's just an attitude Gibby.
Changing what you paint is a great way to change how you paint if you want to.
Experiment...
In a way the amount of detail on the infinity figs makes your life easier, you just keep your paints thin to let the detail shine through.
Like anything, you might not get great results first time but it's just a case of practise.
-
lovely painting on those new ones
dodge
-
Excellently painted miniatures and great choice of colors. Love it ! :-*
-
There are alot of great painted Infinity setups out there, but I rank Hubba's as my favorite!
-
Brill painting! I love your choice of colours! I would love to see you do a tutorial on how you paint a mini.
-
Big fan of your stuff as usual! Will you be doing any of the Spec Ops figures? And will they be getting more than one version if so?
-
Big fan of your stuff as usual! Will you be doing any of the Spec Ops figures? And will they be getting more than one version if so?
Hi, Yes, I have the Pan O and Aleph SecOps, and the Yu Jing one is primed and ready to go, but I's pretty far down the 'to do list' right now. As to different versions, well, it's a possibility.
Here's la Seņorita Conchita Rompehuesos. Riot Grrrrrrrrrrl.

Great stuff as usual, both the painting technique and the choice of colors.
La Armada is running a campaign in Valencia, but our standard is a bit lower :D
-
:o Your skills...I want them! ;D ;D Tremendous paintjobs, keep it up! :)
-
awesome thread. Lovely subdued paintjobs.
Ordered the rulebook and human sphere yesterday.
I really love this range.
Looking forward to more pics.
-
Lovely work (again) :-* :-* :-*
-
Looking fantastic, as are all of the minis. Infinity is my game this year, so I shall be looking at this thread for more inspiration.
-
I really like the colour placement on the Riot Grrl! The orange looks nice and glowy, but doesn't overpower the model - good job sir! 8)
As for Spec Ops... No Vortex love? (It's a hard model to love though, I know... :'( )
-
The painting in this thread is insane.
I have no interest in Infinity, but this thread has showcased many excellent models (most of which I've never bothered looking at before). I could find a use for several of the great sculpts shown here. Very slick painting!

Fantastic work. I really enjoy the cohesive look and the toned down color, very realistic. And the eyes!!!
-
I love this thread, Hubba!
You even get me inspired to at least look at my Haqislams from time to time ;)
-
Interesting colour scheme for Aleph. Like it a lot, although I'm probably gonna stick to white with mine.
Good work.
-
Better and better...love the latest scheme. What colours have you used?
-
Those are ace !
really like the colours.
-
Better and better...love the latest scheme. What colours have you used?
I used VMC grey green 70866 and VMC Dark sea grey 70991 from most of the uniform, for the pouches/backpacks VMC German Camo Beige 70821 and for the weapons and equipment I used Black highlighted with VMC German uniform 70920 which was highlighted to pure german uniform and then further highlighted with ivory.
Unfortunately a lot of the final highlights were lost when I applied the last two coats of matt varnish, reckon I've got a bad batch. It seems to dry with a bit of cloudiness which kills some of the contrast.
Ho hum. :-I
-
Very nice! I am just about to embark on my first infinity faction (Tohaa) :D
FFF
-
Way cool. The GitS color scheme suits those cyborgs perfectly. :-*
-
I'm usually not fond of Infinity stuff, but those Aleph are stunning.
-
and with that I've been convinced that yes, I shall do Aleph indeed. Wonderful looking models, as always, but the paint scheme this time makes these easily my favorite models you've done. Looks exactly like Raiden's sneaking suit from Metal Gear Solid2, so if that's what you were going for then job well done! I LOVE the different blacks together on the same model, the different greys and charcoals each add a wonderful element and work together so well instead of something that is "just black and grey". Will be stealing this scheme, although it might not turn out quite as well as these.
-
Pretty late to the party with this one but dear god this is an inspiring thread! I've always loved the infinity models but find the paint schemes they use on the site a little uninspiring. The 'realistic' style of painting you're using is awesome.
I do have to say though, wow this must have cost you an arm and a leg to buy all of these guys. Infinity models aren't exactly cheap. You must not have anymore organs to sell!!! ;D

The Sisters of Mercy, or not as the case may be.
Hate the heyooooge cannon on the last one but stuck her in there for the sake of completeness.
Thanks again for the feedback.
Apologies for being crap at answering questions. If I've missed a question feel free to PM me. :)

Very nice!

Very fine work! Excellent job on the blending and the faces are aces!
-
Really nice job differentiating the cloak from the armor, the orange 'pop' color is lovely. Beautiful painting!!
-
Lovely as usual.
Good call not giving the ladies bare bottoms.
-
WOW!!!! ;D ;D Fantastic painting!! The big gun on the skinny lassie IS a bit ridiculous!! lol lol
-
Excellent and very inspiring. Nice color choices and no naked butts.
-
Indeed, the painjob's fab as usual of course. The non-naked butt cheeks are a definite plus 8)
Hate the heyooooge cannon on the last one but stuck her in there for the sake of completeness
Yep, it's definitely insane especially given the pose. Most of the the Rev.Moiras aren't posed nearly as much for the k00l factor or sheer titillation tho as I was expecting back when they started coming out.
-
Gorgeous!
-
Just wandered through the entire thread and you can colour me impressed :-* :-*
Very nice work right from the start 8)
Although some of the poses are very, very silly...
cheers
James
-
Yet again, stunning paintwork!
-
Nice work as always. I wish I could get into Infinity. I just can't get my brain around the rules for some reason. They sure make some great minis though.
-
Only just found this thread, your painting is breath taking. love the sisters( even the one with the enormous weapon in her hand(a phrase normally used to describe the scene in a blue movie)).

Thankyou all for the kind words.
If I din't respond to any questions pls. forgive me and feel free to PM me.

This one is pre varnish as I'm finding that my matt varnish is flattening all the tones, and as I'm quite chuffed with this fella I wanted to get a picture just in case.

These are the militarised police of the oppresive YuJing regime. Nice tidy little sculpts but the females all had stupid pig tails coming out of their helmets. Obviously this could not be tolerated by the regime so off they came.
One thing that pisses me off about the infinity sculpts is how most of the female sculpts all have midrift bearing body armour. Like what's the point if it leaves a large proportion of your internal organs vulnerable. Stupid design decision IMO.
(http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m188/son_of_stephen/GuiFengSpecOp_zps896deda1.jpg) (http://s104.photobucket.com/user/son_of_stephen/media/GuiFengSpecOp_zps896deda1.jpg.html)
Gui Feng SpecOps. love this sculpt, lovely little piece. He'll get employed as a hacker/engineer as I think he looks the part with all his kit.

Sneaky Zero camo hacking infiltrator for the Nomads. Cheap as chips points wise and bound to be good fun on the table.

And finally these crazy loons for Aleph. Swrd to a gun fight and all that but oh well.
-
Excellent :)
-
Just love this thread!!
-
Amazing paint jobs. :-* :-* :-* You do know that you're forcing me to buy more Infinity minis. ;)
Love the low key marking scheme on the bases for facing.
-
WOW! Stunning stuff!! :-* :-*
We must be due a group/in game shot by now? Please? Pretty please, with cherries on top? ;)
-
Sounds like a nice idea.
If I get an hour tomorrow I'll get a bit of terrain out, set up the various factions and take a couple of group photos.
That after I've pushed them back and forward a bit making 'pew pew' noises of course. ;)
-
Great paint jobs! I really like the ochre colors on Yu Jing minis.
-
dude...
Subtle, stunning. The kind of brushwork that brings out all the goodness in those sculpts. I'd be worried about gaming with them.
-
Great painting! Looking at infinity stuff for a painting project but the range is massive!!
-
Ooo. That lot is pretty. I got the new infinity art book the other week, between that and this I am so in the mood to go back to the Infinity.
Super inspiring stuff.
J
-
Is it my imagination or since the start of this thread, when your painting was sublime you have somehow actually managed to take your painting up a notch and the later figures are even better than the first figures you displayed.
-
Thankyou once again for the feed back.
As requested I took some group photos.
I didn't remember there being quite so many ::)
The pics are huge, so I guess they'll get resized, but if you click on them you'll get a bigger image.
It seemed daft the reduce their size as you wouldn't be able to see anything.

I returned to the beginning of this thread to look at all the great minis again. So many great looking figures, it's hard not to launch right in to Infinity. Then I hit the terrain post and was stunned. I will be stealing a whole bunch of ideas from you. Thank you in advance.
-
Brilliant collection! :o :o
-
That's a whole lotta figures and each one is a gem 8)
cheers
James

Love it! :-*
Damn, now my friends nagging about Infinity might bear fruit.
-
An Aleph poster boy, He's got a kinda 1980's pretty boy vibe going on that I find strangley unnerving. ;D

And three remote, basic troopers. They don't seem to get played much but the models have grown on me over time so I finally got around to slapping some paint on them.

Those remote troopers look great! And your painting is as usual great.
-
Great paint!
What are the colors that you used for the grey armor?
Thanks for posting.
-
That'd be VMC grey green 70866 and VMC Dark sea grey 70991 .
-
Thanks. Grey Green is a standard for me. Is the dk sea gray used for shadow?
-
No, although it's called dark sea grey, it's actually the lighter of the two. It's the contrasting grey you can see on different parts of the uniform.

A couple more to swell the ranks of Aleph, and a Nomad SpecOp.

After the recent thread about varnishing in the workbench board, I decided to take some pics before varnishing in order to compare the finish pre/post varnish, hence the figs here are still mounted on paint pots.
Contrasting pics to follow.

I've probably said this before but this is one of my favourite 'threads'! I really like the subdued palette used on these.
-
Ive never quite liked that Aleph biker, but you've posed her just a little differently, foot kind of out to provide some support if she needs it. Very nice, love it. Seem like other people pose her foot on ground and it always looks too tilted.
Great precision and coloration too, fantastic work.

I like the smaller weapon on the new stuff, I use Infinity for both Traveller RPG and Infinity it's self, I like to get mileage out of my minis.
-
Love your work. Your armour is superb, your female faces always look soft and feminine. This time the detail that really caught my attention was that highlight on the cheek of the bike rider. Don't know if that is painted on or just some fortuitous lighting, but it brings the face alive.
-
I love those remotes! I need about 30 of them for an army project but that's probably not going to happen any time soon. :'(

You paint absolutely beautifully! WOW!!! May I ask, how is Infinity as a game?

You paint absolutely beautifully! WOW!!! May I ask, how is Infinity as a game?
I posted about it briefly in the rules sticky at the top of the board.
I'd say it's a good game, but it's got way too many special skills and attributes that make it overly complicated until you get familiar with themall. It's got a very, very steep learning curve before you get to grips with the full depth of the game.
The basic mechanic in itself is great, and I love the reaction system, but it's easy to spend your early games with your head permanently stuck in the rule book, which is no fun at all.
This brings me to the game's biggest problems:
1: The rules are very badly written. Even in their original Spanish they are not vey clear many times, so you can imagine what the English translation is like. To add to this the organisation of the rule books is far from logical.
2: There are quite a few important doubts about how some of the rules and special abilities interact, which although the game has been in it's second edition for a number of years, have never been cleared up by Corvus Belli. This is the biggest turn off for me, I only hope that when a third edition is released some time in the near future, Corvus gets their act together and sorts these two issues out.
Thankfully there is a fan created wiki and FAQ which is the best rules reference you could ask for. It's just a pity that's its necessary in the first place ;D
Give it a go, the rules are free to download. Just make sure you start of with 4 or 5 basic troops to start off with and zero special abilities. After a few games you can introduce some troops with special abilities and work your way up to Camo troops, hacking etc.
Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Painfully gorgeous painting...flying the Spanish flag and winning Olympic gold :-*
-
Gorgeous brushwork and another fine example of why I don't enter painting contests. You do justice to those figs, and then some. I really have to update my painting techniques.
-
Top notch painting! :-* :-*
I'm not sure about the poses for ANY of those last three models though :?.....
Riding a bike, one handed, holding a sword AND turning just wouldn't work without you falling off and the other two ladies look like they're posing on a catwalk. (High pitched comedy female voice) " oh look at me. I have a handbag AND an assault rifle!" Or "the SA80 is sooooo last week. I'm only ever seen with SA81 with grenade launcher and handy pop out vanity mirror!" ;)

Great, expressive painting.
@ Andy: lol lol lol

Yes, I can see your point, no denying it really.
It's a Bond Girl kinda thing though.
I guess it's a Marmite relationship, I love some of them, some of the others I can't stand lol
Anyway, final photos.
The before and after varnish photos I posted here:

Haq reinforcements; more Ghulam troopers.
Played a game today with 16 ghulam troopers and a remote. Had a nightmare counting the orders, think I'll stick to 1 group of 10 ;)

EXCELLENT work :-*
Infinity seem a nice wargame, unfortunatelly I never find a faction I really like (maybe a little the hospitallers and teutonics from panoceania).
I like appleseed, ghost in the shell and dominion tank police comics, but strangely I don't like too much the anime/cyberpunk style on miniatures for wargaming.
However the miniatures are really well done, and I suppose spanish wargame players are proud to have Infinity made in their country :)
-
Those are nice, very gritty.
-
Love you're still using the gritty, muted pallette. Great as always!
-
Some stuff I got done over summer.
For all the Infinity fan boys who rattle on about how the price of the stuff is justified by the quality of the sculpts, I'd like to highlight the fact that the Haq hacker's (Barid) arms are too short. lol
Funny poses.

Japanese reinforcements.
Bikers, Karakuris and then Yuriko, and another missile launcher for my link team.

And yes, I aggree, you probably can't ride a bike and fire an assault rifle or machine gun with out falling off or otherwise coming a cropper. :P

They are awesome :-* :-* :-*
cheers
James
-
Very nice! :-*
How did you make the Vortex above please? She looks great!
-
Nomad Wildcat rocket launcher body, Aleph proxy Mk I arms, Haq female Ghulam head, mix well and bake in a moderate oven until golden brown ;)

I had no idea it had been so long since I'd added anything to this thread, anyway, here's Yojimbo.

He looks great! :D
Those 55mm bases do look rather odd and empty for bikes however. I know why they're round and not pill-shaped, but still...

Back from the dead, a Yuan Yuan mercenary, painted in the colours of my Nomads..
Is it just me or are all the 3rd party Photobucket links active again in this thread???
