...one of three options you can build from the one kit! (figures not included)

an alternative with two G.O.T troopers I'm painting at the moment...

I'm not a great modeler - okay - but not great. This little vehicle is calling out for somebody to got to 'town' on added details. As it as i've added a little...
As I wanted to have one of the doors open I've added a little detail to both doors and to the 'cabin' (I hadn't noticed before but Jed has included the safety-belt 'gubbins' so I've added the fastners and a little portion of belt)
mean looking vehicle from this angle! you can't see it but there is some 'suggested' detail in the cargo bay - the lower portion of the turret; boxes, crates; ablative padding on the cargo bay roof front wall etc. Steering wheel and gear lever will be added after cleaning. Open door is not fixed in position yet.
I'm not sure if having the driver stepping into/out of the vehicle is going to work successfully. The doors are problematic (only if having them open - they fit really well closed - and I've had to drill and pin to make longer hinges to facilitate the door opening right back against the side) because of the shape and the size of the opening - we'll see...

meanwhile check the blog for a preview of a military version of one of the G.O.T civilian vehicles

Post by: dwartist on September 30, 2010, 11:38:16 PM
started on the interior. still to have some work done on creating a 'lived-in' look and a few details still to paint. The items in the cargo area can hardly be seen with the roof on so just a few items to suggest stowage, equipment and the lower part of the turret...

the steering wheel and gear stick were added by me.

These are obscenely good. Whenever I try to do 'subtle' it just looks under-painted. Not quite sure how you do it.

the doors are being removed for fitting windows and the wheels are still not fixed permanantly; still some detailpainting and then dusted with pastels to finish.

Great paint jobs! Love the weathering on the military ones (looks so real...), and the police scheme is aces.

Is Antenociti switching over to 3D printing for all their new kit masters? I noticed that some of the GOT terrain stuff looks like it might have been printed as well, wheres the older sci-fi stuff has a lot of kitbashed parts.

mostly 3D printed now, but i still finish by hand and smooth off most everything (as printes just cant do that yet), some rare models are done by hand still too, but as my physical circumstances are constantly deteriorating the switch to 3D has been pretty much a requirement rather than a choice.

okay, here's the driver with the Jeep - problem is I got the leg angles a little wrong during the conversion. The left leg should have hung straight down instead it looks as if she should be stepping off something into the jeep. Any suggestions as to what the 'step' should be? (base is the new Sulaco 120mm from Fenris)

I included the 'drone' as an example of what might be required - do you think it works/

Personally? Nope, it looks too posed. Real-world physics would have the drone tipping over as soon  as any weight was moved onto it.

I think you need to cover a fair part of the base in something to build the "groundwork" up a bit - a single item runs the risk of looking like what it is - an artificial step up. Something like piled bags and tarpaulin-covered gear, perhaps?

You gonna make one? Seriously, thanks for the input - one of your (lesser  ;) competitors makes one just like that I'll copy that!

Suggestion.

Make it look like the figure is stepping off of a raised pavement/sidewalk/loading platform.

The vehicle is then on the lower "road".

Or add a step to the side of the vehicle like Range rovers etc have

one of our ammo boxes looks about perfect actually .... want a pack in the next red-cross package?

There is also, finally, the 'vehicle extras-pack' out after xmas, which will have the metal step-ups for the warthog (well any AFV really), grab-handles, towing-hooks, bull-bars and so forth.

That was my first thought (I've already got a few, thanks) but the height is not quite right (to high or two low) - I think they will make an appearance somewhere on the base though. Actually, something's just occurred to me...
Accessories pack sounds great!
