Title: The Cairo Connection (a 2nd edition .45 Adventure scenario)
Post by: Mo on September 29, 2010, 03:06:53 AM
Southern Front this last weekend gave me an opportunity to test drive the new 2nd Edition rules for .45 Adventures. I kept the scenario basic. Four teams searching for the mysterious 'Black Bird'.  The encounters included groups of Cairo Swordsmen to test out the new squad rules and the Maguffin - was in the hands of a skittish monkey.

The rules played out really well. A lot less adding and subtracting kept the game moving swiftly. But man this is going to be a much deadlier game. Lots of carnage...

Some of our heroes (and villains)...

August O'Hare and the Swordsmen of doom...

Hector von Shnappel searches the alleys...

The monkey. The cursed monkey. Do you know how to drive players crazy? Put the prize in the hands of a monkey that runs everytime someone shoots at it.

Tor climbed the building to snatch the monkey only for an alert opponent to shoot at the monkey to get it to run again.

Finally the teams corner the critter in a building...

Quickly the teams (apparently working together) surround the building...

and go in after him...

It was about at this point that everyone realized they were not all on the same team and spent the next 3 turns blowing the crap out of each other. OH the carnage!!! and the monkey slipped away...

Only to be run down by a truck on the street...

The game didn't end there (although the pics did). The black bird fell into different hands several different times (each team had it for at least a moment) only to have the model with the prize blown away time and again. And of course there was the requisite crashed truck, big explosion, people screaming, dogs and cats living together and in the end... The evil Mask slipped quietly away in almost deserted Cairo streets with the prize.

The moving target Monkey is a nice idea, I'll have to steal that one for our games.

I'm looking forward to seeing what's new in two fisted edition of .45 Adventure.  :)

The game was a lot of fun to run, General. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

The truck looks like a Matchbox Models of Yesteryear or lledo truck. Most often found on ebay.
